  1. This... This is why I want x64 so much already. This mod is the first on my list with maximum textures memory be damned. Alternis Kerbol remake and RSS (I hope it gets expended with no more memory limitations) too... hurry up with 64 bits Quad... Thanks ! =)
  2. The problem with Stock KSP and engines now as of 1.0.2 is that we are really missing a high-ISP *and* thrust engine. Back then I installed "kommit_nucleonics" mods especially for the 2.5m 250 thrust engine (was same ratio as the 60 kN ones or there abouts). 4 of these on my mothership and voila ! respectable burn time with great ISP Unfortunately the mod's look changed and so did engine balance... but by then I was in KSP hiatus which lasted from late 0.25 thru 1.02. Ions have great ISP, super annoying thrust. The LV-N with it's overheating and new mass isn't really nice unless modded. We really need more range in thrust/ISP. As someone else posted somewhere/sometime ago a 600isp engine with 250-400 thrust would really hit home. And obviously 2.5m Ion engine for end-game purpose, complete with better thrust as well... I usually download a mod and make it for myself, but it's also missing. Something with 250kN thrust and 4200 ISP but working on Xenon and Electricity.
  3. Career but I give my game enough money to upgrade all buildings to the maximum. Too much of a grind for options I want to use right away.
  4. Beside the physical game improvements such as graphics, 64 bits and the likes... a playable story in-game, think something like Bob Fitch's series but you as the player perform missions to advance the story, and have cutscenes with voice actors for important plot actions... Imagine, you get sent to Laythe to investigate something, and upon entering it's SOI, the game pauses and you get a "Meanwhile" text on screen with a cutscene of stuff happening back home, or on duna or something... then they call you telling you to abort asap and do not land ! That would be so much fun. AI competitors like the ones in Rairoad Tycoon. They do their own things, but everynow and then you take over or attempted take over against you and stuff like that.
  5. I would design HUGE star systems for players to play into. With an easy UI (no limits remember ?) I could make that happen. Going strictly inside the actual game, but infinite resources, Really huge spaces stations (Like an ISS but for each planets/moon), with equally huge ships (as an example, a huge tanker with a lot of everything in it. Also huge Moon bases on every moon. Think Tyler Raiz's colonization series on steroids.
  6. - - - - That's pretty good to know. Thanks for the head's up as I shall try that eventually !
  7. Landed on Duna 2-3 days ago with a rover that could refuel itself and use rockets to produce movement instead of electrical wheels, plane wheels are far sturdier as well so all and all it was a very successful trip ! Posing for the group shot at the last Biome : And the final flag : Now I am assembling a return craft to bring them home with all the science !
  8. Right now, on semi-hiatus waiting for unity 5 (more for the 64-bits than anything else really), I am trying to unlock most of the tech tree without going to Mun. So far with Kerbin/Minmus, I have 2/3rd unlocked with another minus mission in progress. Keeps me playing and doesn't require too much planning. I also need to redo most of my launchers. So far I remade my heavy one, but small/medium still don't work properly (putting payload on top makes them unstable and I lose the rocket to flipping 1 out of 2 flights). When U5-64b is here... Going to install the Outer planet pack on one install, 1/10th RSS on another install, and Alternis Kerbol on a 3rd and final install. All of which with many, many mods that I've always wanted, but could not because of memory limits. Goals will be to hit every biomes, on every planets, by doing "Jool-5" style for each ones. (ie: a ship for everything in Jool influence, another for Saturnus, etc). There is that "Uranus space station" which I designed late in 0.25 that I will update and build in orbit of that planet's equivalent in Outer Planet's mod... There will also be my satellite network for Remote Tech that I need to redo. When I just want to relax, I'll be in Alternis Kerbol(That mod reviving should be done by then, let's hope). So much to do when u5-64bits gets released !
  9. To answer your original question, OP, if you kept the install files for 0.90 (or your folder with everything in it), you can still run it. There was a thread about the old versions of KSP as well, you should find it on the forums, but I don't know if it features 0.90.
  10. Too expensive? Not at all. I got at least a year of solid gameplay out of it... Nowadays no games ever manage to do that anymore (or almost no games). I Suspect that after unity5 64-bits, and all the mods have been updated, I have another really long session or 2 left.
  11. An extremely long time. A typical complicated craft needs hours of testing, paper-note taking and tweaking, and then a few more testing sessions. Took me 2 months to get my Jool-5 ship to top shape, but then 1.0 happened and changed a lot of things. Took me one month to finaly get my "Solar Cruiser" to shape (ion jool-5, "close-by probe" that can do most science and return them all... without any way to reset experiments as it was unmanned). Took me another month to develop my light/medium/heavy launcher system for payload (lots of learning involved, and I understand now why ppl use the pump mod, far better than fuel lines) Took me 2 weeks to tweak my rovers... etc. But I don't have a lot of free time, so that 2 months must be something like 40 hours. - - - - Very hesitant to invest all my free time until aero has been finalized, SAS wobbling (re)fixed, and Win 64-bits so my modding habits wont crash the game over and over. But at the same time, I really can't wait for that... and as such making easy ship builds to go to mun, minmus, and the duna system. Most of them I can make/test and launch in under 60mins now.
  12. I did notice a return of that. Nothing a good strutting won't fix, just like early game. Also it really doesn't matter if it's under a faring or not, it still wobbles. And yes, turning off SAS fixes it. Feels just like the old game to me, heh.
  13. About the size of a larger type of M-class star. Man what wouldn't I give for "real" solar system editor in KSP I could make stuff like a fictional Gliese 581 system (a What If or the likes).
  14. The only places I have not landed yet : Bop, Vall and Ike (I even let myself "land" on the sun and on Jool).
  15. Just what the title is saying... Most of the time I have no problems with the new Aero, I only had troubles last night and only for 3 launches... But it made me think about this suggestion. Before I would install FAR, or not, depending what type of Game I was feeling playing. Now I don't think it's possible to install the old aero as a mod. So having the choice when firing up a new game would be nice. In no case is this a priority thing, but it would be a "nice to have". Discuss...
  16. Ok, something is wrong... Same rocket as last week in 1.0.2, I launched 10 times and everything worked fine. This week seeing this tread I was curious to try again. I launched again, and the ....... of a rocket keeps turning the opposite way (dropping out) as soon as I hit ~17-20km. I thought this was a fluke and I launched 3 more times, following prograde... nopes, flips out every single time. I don't know what's up anymore. but I don't have time to try and find out for the next 2-15 hours. Going to play something else instead. Again, SAME rocket, Same launch profile, keeps flipping out... was ok in 1.0.2 last week. The 'Too annoying' factor is beating the 'fun factor', and I'm very patient with KSP. oh well. [EDIT: LOL! tried another time... I can't stress this enough; same rocke, same launch profile... Now I'm in orbit without flipping. I give-up, I don't know ... is going on lol]
  17. I thought unity 5 **WAS** stable Windows 64 bits... What's up with that ?
  18. Someone named Dr. Hawk lead me to KSP. He very seldom does other things than "Radio blogs" on youtube, but at the time we both where on the Star Citizen chat, and he posted a livestream of KSP landing on the dark side of the Mun with a quad KV-N lander (back in 0.22). I was intrigued by the game and bought it the same night. Was about 25$ so really cheap, so why not ? Glad I did. It's only after that I started checking youtube for tips and tricks and found Scott Manley.
  19. Definitely something worth trying for a new mothership for a grand-tour in 1.0.x Having a "Cargo ship" docked to it which could also dual-serve as the low-gravity lander/mining ship would work as you extract the ore from the body and redock to store it. I wonder if it would be possible to make one that works everywhere, including Tylo... Ummm. Now the only thing missing are new, bigger LV-N with 250 thrust. (Wasn't there a mod for that ?)
  20. My favorite is Pol As I don't play much nowadays, I seldom visit it anymore. But with the new resources, I might be giving it a visit soon. Obviously my terrain scatter is always on and with maximum density. Then I'd probably say Laythe and Mun. Mun is quite interesting for a Mun Base to see kerban at all times (forgot the coordinates where, but it is possible) and is always a challenge to drive on because of the gravity and overabundance of craters. Laythe is another Favorite of mine because of jets that works (until we 'finally' get some electric propellers)
  21. For me, Unity5 is the biggest thing. It's even more important than 0.25, 0.90 and 1.0.x Even if it doesn't allow for bigger craft or better performances, just the extra memory will be fantastic ! It will allow me to run the Outer planets Mods, or the 1/10th RSS with full textures, in ADDITION to my usual mods when they update (EVE, Engineer, RT2, procedural tanks/fuel, and many more). I've not delved too much in the 1.0.x game because I am a very slow rocket builder in the game and the Aero is (imho) still subject to be 'adjusted' somewhat, and I don't want to have to redesign all my launchers/ssto every month. Still waiting for that "This is the final aero changes" quote to really start redesigning. Of my wish list since U5 will be a thing? Electric Propellers, LF tanks for rockets (reskinned 1.5/2.5m tanks is enough), EVE and Kerbal Engineer as part of basic engine, maybe with planetshine too. Oh and a stock button to import/choose skyboxes with a brief description of what the format should be). Obviously extra stock outer planets, if they have time.
