Hmm, still only 4 preview videos? Kind of expected more by now. I'd really like to see a video showing an in-depth look into the resource system. WinterOwl's video was good for most things but definitely lacking in the resource department.

I've only seen 3 Youtube videos. Is there another?

I've seen EnterElysium, Scott Manley, and TheWinterOwl.

Looks like we have a bug. KSPTV Syvos is streaming right now and we are seeing launch clamps flying through the air several times during launch at altitudes of 10KM-20KM. One even hit the ship and caused rapid unplanned disassembly.

P.S. Sorry to post in hype thread, just felt it was the best place to post, and i've already been commenting here so...

I was watching that. I thought I was seeing grey puffs of cloud which indicate parts of the rocket were taking damage due to the new aero package rather than bits of launch clamp randomly spawning. I hope it's not a bug.

Yeah the SAS system looks like it doesn't handle the new aero well at all. Lots of nasty wobbles where it's turned on. WinterOwl commented on that during his video too. On the plus side it looks like launching with SAS off seems to work pretty well as an interim solution (judging from WinterOwl's launch).

Going by Syvos's stream, fuel tanks get hot from engines and can explode in space! You have to monitor the temps by activating the feature in the Debug menu.

I want to know why that very useful feature (and dv) are in the debug menu??

Why oh why can't they be an option in the settings??

Turning something on in the debug menu every time you play is very annoying..

Completely agree, especially when it can affect gameplay, I.e exploding fuel tanks. It would get a bit frustrating if you didn't know about the debug menu.

If the propagation of heat works well, we should be able to slap a thermometer on any part and see the temps on it without the debug menu.

This might be the way to do it.

A cool way to do it, perhaps in a future update, would be some sort of colour scheme where hot parts would go from red to white depending on how hot they are. Toggle on and of in the debug menu maybe?

Get it? Cool because we are talking about heat XD.

Good luck with that... Clicking on every thermometer for every part, whilst re-entering...

Except you wouldn't. During reentry you expect overheating and design for that. I was thinking more of overheating fuel tanks/parts of the ship while burning for encounters, like he was doing on the stream. The nukes obviously generate a lot of heat which was destroying nearby parts. You would only need 1 thermometer next to the nuke to see if you are approaching critical temperature. Also Winterowl mentioned that environments have ambient temperatures. If that is true, craft on EVE will probably die within minutes of landing due to overheating, just like on Venus. In that case you still only need 1 thermometer, since all of the craft would be heating up at the same rate.

Colour mapping of temps are already in the debug menu I believe but I haven't seen anyone use it yet.

The new front page says hype is at maximum levels. Challenge Accepted.

Everybody! Hype! Fast load times! Working on the inside of fairings looks awesome! Dust clouds under your rockets! You can go to another ship while one is mining and it will continue to mine!
