Why not allow vulcan turrets with restricted(2 degrees or less) movement?

I like the way you think.

My theory on missile effectivness is that positioning and relative velocities of the aircrafts makes a huge difference.

Just as it does in real life.

Also Zixor, do you want to test against the F-9 Before your match? The coordinates for setup are Lat:-0.03 or 0.07 Lon:275.5 Altitude:1

Alphasus,

Are you using the Legacy Targeting option with BDA or the normal one?

I'm testing both right now, it seems the legacy targeting is better for guns, and the new targeting is better for missiles.

EDIT: Never mind, I saw the setting you're using in the Round 8 video.

I've run some tests with vulcan turrets set to limited range (1 to 2 degrees in each axis). Cannon fire has become noticeably more effective; dogfights tend to last about 4 minutes or so until a wing or engine is shot off. I think the best way to incorporate this into a future competition would be to allow turrets to have a total of 3 to 5 degrees of range that they can distribute between the three axis BD armory lets you tweak (for example, 2 degrees of positive pitch + 1 degree of negative pitch + 2 degrees of yaw = 5 degrees total).

I'll try to record some of my test matches tomorrow.

But would it be a little unfair to the plane that runs out of missiles first? Because in the older versions, they can just switch to the guns and continue, but now they need to wait until the other plane runs out of missile. Before that happens, the first plane cannot defend itself effectively.

That makes me nervous. Hope my heatwave can be the one which breaks this record.

BTW, can I put the "lieutenant" badge on my signature now? Or does the final stage means the finals but not semi-final?

Well, actually, you can´t. The lieutenant badge was thougt for people who reach the final stage in the challonge bracket (aka win their group/their losers group). In the end its Alphasus´ decision, but I think we will have to many lieutenants if you get the badge for a single win. Please tell me your decision, so I can update the bracket post.

Good idea! I will do some other badges with similar titles I thing. They will have a single silver star, and if you score the archievement twice or more often, you´ll get more stars (only on request).

Ideas:

Ace: Score 5 wins in a row

Hotshot: Destroy 3 planes with you machine gun

Engineer: Win a battle damaged

General: Host an Alpha tournament ;)

Tightwad: Lose a battle because of lack of fuel

Sergeant: Win a battle

Is this OK or do you think we need more/less? Also, should I make these a bit smaller so they don´t clutter up you sig?

OK, best idea I had so far would be this:

It is thought to be put next to your rank badge.

Problem is, you can´t really read "Engineer". I will have to come up with a better solution.
