Hodo
Still got two rounds to go; the F-119 isn't down yet. And the K-3 will be a serious challenger if it just gets a smidge more fuel. For some reason the F-119 wasnt turning the way it did previously in other fights. Was there a change to the DCA settings? Was there a change to the DCA settings?Nope. But if you look at the control indicators in bottom left, you'll see that the F-119 wasn't using full stick very much. It's not that the plane can't turn tighter, it's that the autopilot chose not to. Winding up the turn settings on the autopilot would probably help, but overdoing it will create wobbles. And I am sure it will beat almost everything out there. I have no doubts in that aircraft. There is a reason why it is the oldest fighter SSTO in my inventory. Guest
http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/134666-Pacificator-Orbital-Interceptor-%28BDarmory-FAR%29Any idea to add more lift while keeping the look relatively close to how it is now? Doke
That's a very nice looking plane. Unfortunately, there's only so much lift you can get without drag. You could probably afford to drag those main wings out a bit further, though (not sure, since I haven't flown it yet). Also, I think you need a cockpit and an alternative to that rapier if this thing is meant to compete (should be easy to arrange, by the look of it). Or is that a nosecone at the front there? Shave down the fuel load, ammo load, number of guns and missiles, wing strength, etc etc. Edited September 21, 2015 by Wanderfound
Wanderfound
Again, fuel capacity matters in close fights.
Hodo
Again, fuel capacity matters in close fights.I honestly am amazed at people stripping fuel out of their fighters to less than Bingo levels just to gain a slight advantage. Each time it has happened the craft has ran out of fuel. I personally think if the aircraft doesnt have at least a half hour of fuel left it is no longer combat effective. Really the only important factor for AI tournaments seems to be turning radius because the AI doesn't know how to fly to the strengths of its plane and always flies the same way. Also I should probably install dynamic deflection by now because the d-7 won every one of my test fights. TrainEngie
I'm not so sure the TE-11F Shingo is battle-certified (I ran 5 tests, 3 for tryouts, 2 for fun) because it was originally a retrofitted short-range bomber. That's right... a bomber. Here's what it kinda looks like. Edited September 22, 2015 by TrainEngie
rudi1291
Submissions still open? If yes, i submit Nabf-3 (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4QhWMYt6hbPenAzdVFQMFBzQkE/view?usp=sharing). Not a masterpiece, but it doesn´t head directly into the ground

You would be surprised at how little you actually need if you have a lower wing loading.
Dwerto
I finally installed dynamic deflection and was messing around with it. I think that the default settings on the machine hosting the contest should be for dynamic deflection to do nothing if they are not already. This way planes built by people without the mod will perform the same.It might be nice if you could make sure the d-7 deflection is 100% at all dynamic pressures because that is the way it was designed.edit: I'm not sure it's possible to set a default that way so I guess people will have to have dynamic deflection installed Edited September 23, 2015 by Dwerto
