@Kuzzter, commence operation sugar-free syrup.

Abso-smurfing-lutely not! Is that even possible? What chemical insanity would even be required to produce such an abomination??? Vermont syrup to stay out of Canadian clutches, sure. Even New York. But dude, the whole point of the stuff is that it's made of sugar!

I definitely agree about maple syrup.

Are you going for corn syrup or something...?

Corn syrup, high-fructose or otherwise, is pretty much just sugar, as is maple syrup. Standard corn syrup is mostly maltose, and High-Fructose is half glucose, half fructose. Maple is mostly sucrose, with a bit of glucose and fructose.

To think about "space chess": the surname Korolyov is derived from the word "король" [korol'], which is the Russian word for "king".  What about naming the main piece "Chief designer" or "Mission director" or something around these lines?

We've made a successful re-entry and are back home! Kids loved it all, of course. Learned all about WWII and Vietnam-era carrier ops, and got to walk around the decks where it all happened. Loads of interesting aircraft all over the place of course, and the surprise visit from HM's Canadian ship was a highlight. And of course, there was Enterprise:

Comics will resume in good time :)

Glad you had a good trip and returned safely.  And the pic above made me play "Riding a Raid" (to the tune of "Bonnie Dundee") and then "Garryowen" on my concertina :D

That picture, Kuzzter has both a Human pink neck and a green Kerbal neck...

*Puts on tinfoil hat*

But anyway looking forward to the new comics! We haven't seen what the Kerbulans are doing in what I feel has been too long... :0.0:

Also Kuzzter, are you planning on portraying Laythe as being habitable?

Adding the question about Laythe.

Have fun with this!

We are the pride of the planet,
and a Program of great renown,
Our names on the pages of history,
from Day One on.
If you think our launches will fail us,
while into space we go,
just watch our contrails heading higher
while the band plays Gary Kerbal!

Outer space is the place for me,
it's every single Kerbal's dream.
No job on Kerbin can claim
A kerbalnaut's glory and undying fame.

We know joy when fun duty
sends us away far from home.
Our planet's flag shall wave o'er us
carr'ying back the image of home.
"It matters not where they are going,
science and fun are soon to be known"
surely you'll cheer as we launch away
and the band plays Gary Kerbal

Chorus

Then "Hurrah!" for our brave friends
who lead us into the night
We'll research and mine in Science's cause
and shine our lights,
and when the mission so'er
and we've splashed in Laythes' atoll
we'll perk up our heads and get out of our beds
as the band plays Gary Kerbal!

Chorus

Good one!

How'd you get the single spacing?  I can't make that happen without the "code" thing, as seen below.

"An' in place o' spa we'll quaff down ale

An' we'll pay no reckonin' on the nail

No Kerb for debt shall go to Jool

When he is Parka B. Kerman's tool"

So, continuing with the concertina....

Come fasten yer struts an' tighten yer gain
Come L-dock yer Skimmer an' Qwammer again
Try the fit o' the pods with the KAS tool
For he must ride sure who goes ridin' to Jool

I don't know the first one, but the second one reads to me like "The Times, They are a' Changing"

EDIT: Looked it up, and you are doing "Riding to Jool."

Well the 1st is a very slight mod to the chorus of "Garryowen".  The one you quoted is a slight mod to "Riding a Raid", which is a major mod of "Bonniie Dundee".

Oh, we have Fizzbin for that kind of complexity! Cheks is just earth chess, nothing more or less :)

How about a popular modification:

a 4x4 board, with an extra space off to the side that any piece can enter but must leave to any their-side place on the board in the next turn, or it "burns up"? Also, bonus: There's a sun, 7 standard planets, and 9 moons in the Kerbol system- that makes 17, so that 4x4+1 arrangement works well! So yes- "King", "Queen", 2 "Pawns".

"Kings" could move like Rooks do, while "Queens" would do Bishop moves. The "Pawns" could do 1 forward or 1 diagonal maybe?

What a load of kowmulch! Trying to make a quick & easy cargo SSTO to get the last parts and crew to Intrepid, and this happens:

ephWkRQ.png

I cannot space because of the drag of the stuff inside the cargo bay. Arrggh! I tried to construct a fairing inside the bay to see if that would get rid of the drag but there's not enough room. Rebuilt the ship with standard cargo bays only instead of bay + tail ramp, let's see if that makes the game see all these parts as inside and out of the airstream...

If that fails I suppose I can just strap everything to boosters, but I wanted just a little bit of elegance. :(

ETA: On  further examination it looks like the vectors are coming from the bays themselves, not the parts inside them. Still annoying. Moar jets may solve the problem, I don't have @Rune-level patience for this :)
