Love how the mood lighting here really brings out the natural red in her eyes. :sticktongue:

It really does help accentuate the evil... lmao...

Quite literally.

But a wonderful bit of bait-&-switch here.

Not gonna lie... I did a very serious evil chuckle when the idea of using her hit me... bwaahahaha

Or mix it up:

”Please state the nature of the piloting emergency.”

”Oh God, oh God, we’re all gonna die?”

Now that would be too funny... :D

I vote we call the next chapter “Fire Burn and Cauldron Bubble”

I will give this serious consideration... ;)

Sorry.

was the one who lied.

just took offense at something else, I guess.

I'm sorry, too...

The last couple days have been crazy... in a good way...

But I'm kinda bouncing off walls...

What reference? I'm not a guy to spot references.

OK...  I have one of my own from Serenity...

"Boy, sure would be nice if someone had brought some grenades!!!"

I like that, but if it's a reference, please tell me.

Yes, it's from Shakespeare's Macbeth.

Like the last title and quote:

By the pricking of my thumbs
Something wicked this was comes

This is spoken by the three witches... Yes, Macbeth has witches... it's seriously messed up, actually, and one of my favorites.

Anyway, @TeslaPenguin1 is quoting one of the most famous spells in literary history, the Song of the Three Witches, from Macbeth:

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Fillet of a fenny snake,
In the caldron boil and bake;
Eye of newt and toe of frog,
Wool of bat and tongue of dog,
Adder's fork and blind-worm's sting,
Lizard's leg and howlet's wing,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and caldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good.

Yeah, well, I did perform in it in a school play a few years back as one of the witches, as well as one of the dukes (we were low on cast members).  Anyway, it’s the only line I remember :P

If you have someone good (and fast) helping with the make-up, someone could easily be a witch, and another of the supporting characters... And I bet that would be a riot backstage switching from one to another and then back again... lmao...

Oh, and for the record, while I know most of the Shakespeare stories, I still have to look up most of the quotes to make sure I get the wording right. ;)

Well, we didn’t do makeup, we only did that for Shrek the musical (which we also did, by the way)

But the costume switching was pretty hard tho, given that we were doing it “in the round” which was how Shakespeare and friends did it... that was eventful and fun...

It had been a long and stressful ten-day

Cool, I've played around with the idea of having a decakerbol - ten sunrises as a week. Good to see someone else plays along with this kind of detail!

So let her scream, Werhner was just too tired to really care.

I understand this mentality all too well. Kinda there, right now... :(

In fact she was never far from Thompberry anymore... something everyone had begun to notice. But now wasn't the time...

And... that's how it always begins. It sneaks up on you when you least expect it - or want it... :D

On 7/27/2018 at 6:25 PM, Just Jim said:

"That... that is another of Angelo Kerman's creations... big sister of the Annabel Lee." Val called out over the increasing roar of the unbelievably huge engines...

Dr. Angelo... always going bigger and bigger... He has a tendency to do that in Kerny's Kerbiverse, also...

whatever it was, made the tornado engines sound like toy pocket fans!

Wow... resizer? How did you get them that big?

"Dun Dun Dun... Dun de Dun... Dun de dun..."

I understand," Samantha shook her head sadly. "I suppose it would be quite a shock..."

This deserves the "understatement of the year" award! Yeah, that's one heck of a thing to adjust to - to wake up from a stupor and find yourself Kerbalized!

On 7/27/2018 at 6:25 PM, Just Jim said:

Then Samantha turned and looked up at Thompberry.

"And speaking of shocks... Imagine my surprise to learn you not only back on the planet, but you helped in the recent... events?" Samantha called up. "There are some on the Grand Council that are calling for you to be dissected and studied..."

"Over my poofed body!" Piper stepped forward and snarled, and the entire group gasped as one.

Reminds me of an episode of ST:TNG. They wanted to do the same thing to Commander Data...

On 7/27/2018 at 6:25 PM, Just Jim said:

"Outstanding," Samantha beamed, then turned back to Piper. "Commander, would you be so kind as to drive me to this auditorium? I wish to hear more about why we shouldn't have Thompberry dissected..."

Piper looked over behind the Grand Kerbal and saw Werhner nodding slowly before she replied.

"Yes, ma'am... it would be my pleasure." Piper turned to climb into the new and much improved Chariot. "I think you'll like this new rover... It's the latest design."

Could I detect a secret desire of Piper to whoop some Kerman butt here? A desire to retract the extended ladders before the Grand Kerbal climbs all the way up? :D

On 7/27/2018 at 6:25 PM, Just Jim said:

"By the Goddess... Rasel... It's Bruberry... Bruberry Kerman!!!" Geschosskopf shouted as he ran up to the poor, long lost Kerbette.

Oh, wow... had to go back a few chapters to find this one! What a nugget!

On 7/27/2018 at 6:25 PM, Just Jim said:

From where Thompberry was observing there were three small flashes followed by a brilliant emerald green and white burst... and the trree of them were gone... along with the magic Boulder itself... and Thompberry whispered softly as the data began to flow into his circuits...

"Fascinating..."

For some reason, this came to mind... And it seems to fit quite well... :D Or does it?

"Greetings, wise and ancient creatures... I am Samantha Kerm... Kerm... Oh... oh gods... no... NO!!!"

And Samantha fell over in a sick heap as the Empress's thought tentacles reached out and violated her mind...

Yeah, this might be a problem! :D Or not...

Emiko's planet!!!

:D Sorry - is that anything like Gilligan's Planet?

Slowly... slowly... he turned to the Empress...

And snarled...

"Eradicate them all!!!"

Wow... what an ending! Great chapter, @Just Jim!
