And I still think Diamondback is the most imaginative use ever of Mk2 Bicouplers But how does Kuzz still trust Geo with a spanner? Didn't his last bit of tinkering end up blowing their ship in half? Crystal_Mace
On 5/24/2016 at 1:11 PM, Just Jim said: Hey everyone. Sorry about this. What's wrong with my back is I have something called a Spondylolisthesis of the 5th lumbar vertebra. Simply put, my bottom vertebra is about 10mm out of place, forwards and a bit down, from where it should be. And all the discs and muscles and everything around it are deformed and squished, and the nerves are pinched. And there is nothing much that can be done about it. Three different doctors, including one of the very best in Florida, all said the same thing, surgery could help, or make it much worse, and it's about 50/50 either way. So unless it gets worse, it's better not to even try. Oh, and the really fun part is I don't do pain killers. They don't help, and just make me really, really sick. Although I sometimes wonder if this isn't actually a good thing??? I can never become addicted to them, that's for sure! Anyway, I try not to make a big deal of it, but sometimes if I move wrong, it locks up really bad, and I end up in bed for a few days, which is what happened this time. It's not so bad today, and I'm hoping it's simmered down again. Another day should do it. I have a condition called Akylosing Spondlylits. Basically it means my neck vertebrae are over time trying to stop moving. In my case its not a painful process, so I just need o keep things moving AMAP, and get chiropractic adjusments now and again. Yours sounds a lot more debilitating.Hope the worst is passed..? Crystal_Mace
Because of weird computer issues I haven't been able to get into the net at all, so for better or worse I'm reading the last three chapters all at once. Yay for reading such a big chunk.....arrgh for having to wait that long.... I love the comparison of Thompberry to the Grinch. Not the Jim Carrey Grinch though! Thompberry is definitely the Boris Karloff original! The fire on Kuzzter's ship and Carlenna cast adrift....heart-stopping stuff!! Th Munar roadtrip and what happened at the third arch.....but Thompberry was having his crisis of conscience meltdown......so who was feeding dreams to Piper this time?? Emiko Kerman, back from who knows where....and what WILL Thompberry do when he finds out in light of his changing feelings about everything? This is great storytelling and I'm so looking forward to more!! On a sadder note, the same computer issues that kept me out of reading the last three chapters until now, also kept me out of my own game, and necessitated a factory reset of my entire hard drive, with no way to go in and save anything. So my entire game is back to the beginning. I will try to rebuild what I can, but so much in game history.....I had saved everything out of game and was saving towards an external drive to put it on, but nothing.s recoverable now. Going to miss Space Stations 'Evening Star' and 'Outermost House' the most and the plan to build a munar tracking station around Verzey Kerman's stranded ship the 'Suspension of Disbrlief'. I'm sorry. After the kraken crash I experienced early on..... somewhere around chapter 7-8 I think... anyway, after that I started keeping separate backups of the Emiko game on a memory stick. In fact, I think I'll update it this morning, just in case. 2 hours ago, Crystal_Mace said: I love the comparison of Thompberry to the Grinch. Not the Jim Carrey Grinch though! If I don't have it in my game, nobody can pester me about it It is getting a little... excessive.... agreed. But getting back on topic, I got a lot of behind the scenes stuff done today, and about half what I want for the next chapter. However, I have to warn everyone, there's a storm coming thru, so I could be down for a bit the next couple days. It's only a depression, not a hurricane, so it shouldn't be too bad. But this time of year, just a regular Florida summer storm can be... well, interesting, to say the least. And quite possibly terrifying if you've never seen one. We can get literally hundreds and even thousands of lightning strikes an hour, non-stop. At night it's the most insane light show you could ask for. But as loud and impressive as the thunder and lightning is, it's the wind gusts that cause the most problems. They kick up out of no-where, and all it takes is one broken branch to take out a wire or pole,...or a pole to get zapped... and there goes the power for a few hours. Already happened once this year, when my back was all screwed up a couple weeks ago. Took about 4 hours to get the power turned back on. And if a hurricane rolls in, then I'll most likely be gone 2-3 days. That seems to be the average, depending on the storm, and how close it hits. Not a big deal, I've been thru a bunch, and we're all set here when the next one hits. No if... just a matter of when. But again, I'm not too worried, just warning everyone, the average down time after a hurricane is 2-3 days. No power, NADA. I might be able to chime in on my tablet, but that depends on whether there''s an internet signal available anywhere... hard to say. OK, it's rumbling outside now, and I'm heading to bed. Nite all! AviosAdku
The "64,000,000 credit question", hmmm? I'm on it (although I don't know if there's enough to go off yet). Let's see ... (starts pacing) - I'd say its safe to assume that whatever it is behind the Mun arch is the same force as behind the rocks. - Whatever it is seems to have a far better perspective than the Kerbals, possibly having a different perception of time - Assuming this isn't a full blown Kudzu Plot, in chapter 29 there is reference to a probe being righted mysteriously, shown with a rock. Either this was Omega-77 or something else. - I was going to suggest humans but if this connection is true, the buildup to this started way before that idea was seen. - Come to think of it, seeing where Emiko vanished and the warning about the Munar saucer, I'd say they're connected. - What is it? not sure yet. I'll need more data to work with, maybe I can glean more from re-reading it but I'm hoping more clues will come out with Emiko's subplot. On a side note, I think I have an idea what the Mun arch was trying to say: Thompberry is coming to Kerbin, and trouble is coming (I forget who it was but they called Thompberry as the product of the Kraken). Sorry if this isn't that coherent, I'm kind of in a hurry to finish this post.
