Regarding a certain little game...

I have managed to collect a number of computer memory holders, almost entirely flashdrives. One day I decided to look at my wealth of knowledge in my library of useless files, and found something interesting...

The entirety of KSP versions 1.0.2 and 1.0.4 were on a drive-- from a backup I had made when they were the newest versions. These were the whole shabang. All my old saves and screenshots (and all other folders) were just sitting there. Then I got an idea: Make a stupid forum post. It sounded better in my head, but it has a reason behind it. I'll be frank: What versions do you have? It's great if you have pictures (You don't need an imgur.com account to upload) What working game versions do you have? Do tell!

My files of the game. 1.0.5 added for reference and posterity.

I have a 1.0.2 instance, four 1.0.4 instances, and a 1.0.5 instance. I tend to delete old ones when I start new ones.

My old machine probably has some 0.25 instances I bet, but it's in another town right now so I can't check it.

EDIT: I missed the part about sharing. I do not now nor when I originally posted this did I intend to make any of these available to others. I was merely discussing the old versions I have lying around.

Oh can of worms...  Let's see.  I have installed:

0.18.4
0.18.4 (modded)
0.19
0.19.1
0.20
0.20.1
0.20.2
0.20.2 (modded)
0.21
0.21.1
0.21.1 (modded)
0.22
0.23
0.23 (modded)
0.23.5
0.24
0.24.2
0.25
0.90
0.90 (reinstall)
1.0
1.0.2
1.0.3
1.0.4
1.0.5

I also have 0.7.3, 0.11.1, 0.12, 0.13, 0.13.1, 0.14, 0.14.2, 0.15, 0.16, 0.17, and 0.24.1 on disk in .ZIP format.  No, I don't really know why either.

My stored versions are fairly heavily modded, with only a couple exceptions.  Assume latest version for all version numbers.

I've got:

0.20
0.21
0.22
0.23
0.23.5
0.24.2 x64
0.25
0.90 Stock
0.90 Modded
1.04 Stock
1.04 Modded

Why do I have all those versions saved?  Because I had saves that were active, kept playing until mods came out for the latest version, and are useful for getting a nice blast from the past.  That, and I've not run into a need for disk space, so I've not gone through and pruned old versions of KSP.

I kinda like having the old versions, though.  It's nice to be able to go back and experience KSP the way it used to be, with atmosphere as thick as soup, infinigliders, intakes that shoveled ridiculous amounts of air into ridiculously powerful jet engines with enough thrust to put a plane in space with careful planning and a little nudge, and of course, no re-entry heat, so it was a proper descent profile to dive into the atmosphere with re-entry flames making your ship glow white hot.

It also reminds me of why KSP is so good: it's evolved into something more than it started out as.  Originally just a little rocket building sandbox game that let you put your ever trusty crew of three screaming kerbals into orbit, never dying, even when you intentionally blew them up, now a game with a career mode, science gathering mode, and the obvious sandbox mode that all somehow work together to create a game that ends up being fun.

I started out keeping old versions but now I only archive screenshots - from which I usually make to few and did not start to make early enough, so now I lack the ability to take part in any "show your first steps on KSP" thread.

My oldest is 0.13 from January 2012. For some reason I didn't keep a copy of 0.12, which is kind of sad now I think about it. After 0.13 I have at least one install of every official release, and several experimental versions between most of those releases.

My KSP install folder contains... lemme count 'em up... 74 distinct versions of KSP still in the .zip files. There are also 36 unzipped and installed instances of the game, although several of those are just differently modded/unmodded versions of the same release. I have more installs of 0.25.0 than anything else, at six different copies. Windows tells me the install folder weighs in at 120 GB.

By contrast, my "Kerbal Stuff" folder contains no copies of the game, but is mostly collections of mods. Some of it is very disorganized, because for some inexplicable reason I didn't start keeping separate mod collections for separate game versions until 0.21. That folder is a mere 36.4 GB, and I'm not even going to attempt to figure out how many different versions of different mods I'm keeping there. Are you missing an old version of some major mod? Message me; there's a good chance I have it here somewhere.

I wonder at what point do you stop being an enthusiast and collector? At what point do you become a hoarder?

Nothing much to show off with, I've been only playing since the 0.90 and I kept constantly leaving the game so,

0.90 stock, 1.0.2 modded, 1.0.4 modded and 1.0.5 modded. Once I settle down with 1.0.5 (I have some mods that don't work with 1.0.5 so) I'm gonna probably delete them because my potato doesn't have a lot of storage.
