Been playing this madness of a game for a few weeks now , still in the early stages ( most of my Kerbins seem to know that judging by their expressions whilst their piloting my attempts at ship building ) of learning to fly . Doing my level best not to kill any of them is difficult , but fun..................

Oh, hi!

Well, here's your first lesson on getting to orbit: Orbit is not a place, nor a height- it is a speed. You have to be going fast enough sideways to fall down ~5m/s while Kerbin has gotten 5m down.

Bad explanation, I know, but you'll want to check out the Gameplay Questions and Tutorials Subforums.
