I am at work and don't have the game open right now but IIRC, you want to adjust the 'vacuum light level' slider up from the default of .03.  I think I have mine at .14...just light enough to see stuff but still pretty dark for dark side of the planet/moon stuff.  If you move the slider all the way to the right it should be as bright as day (Jeb approved). :)

You can also change it in the Settings.cfg file: vacuumLightLevel = 0.14

It's something with the new scatterer.. it's not something I can fix. It's just makes it darker than older versions. Planet shine can fix it or try an ambient light mod. There are a couple of mods floating around the forums that are 1.2.2 compatible

Thank you again, I will try that and see.

I completely understand, I thought perhaps I had something installed wrong or I missed a post about a setting.  I really do enjoy the visual... but.. dark.. scary.. :)

Follow up: I made the suggested settings and I just don't see the changes to help.  I removed scatter and the dark sides are not that spooky anymore.  I mean, I get it.  Is there is no light source.. it is going to be.. dark!  However; since I stream , just attempting to make things "look" better.

Again thank you so much for the input and suggestions.

Hi,

First off I think think KSP looks great with this mod. I am however having a few performance issues - my PC is reasonable so just wondering if it's expected - are other people having the same problem.

I have an i7 6700k (stock clock), 980Ti and 16Gb RAM. I run ksp 64bit in 3840x2160 (4k). As it's not really a GPU intensive game I can run stock at well over 60FPS - I turn vsync on to cap it. With SVE installed it drops to below 20 on Kerbin at times - the 'physics warning' clock frequently turns yellow even launching basic rockets. High and Medium don't seem to make a difference.

The only other mods I'm currently using are PreciseNode, Kerbal Alarm Clock, Reentry Particle Effect, Waypoint Manager and Kerbal Engineer.

Appreciate any pointers or suggestions!

Hello!

I am back to KSP and getting all my mods again. Last version I played was 1.3, and I can see lots of things have changed.

So I installed SVE and it looks really nice, buuut...  there's a strange "tint" or colored fading near the terminator on bodies with atmospheres. This is especially noticeable for Kerbin and Jool.

http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/156901856770364661/34351E08BC8214AFBE150D563BB63EE4D888AF3A/

As it happens, it is a fresh reinstall and this is the very first mod I install. The only one thing I did was deleting the CityLights folder and DLL file, which I find unrealistic.

How can I get rid of this weird coloring?

Thanks in advance!

That is extremely realistic terminator color. It is an awesome feature but if you don't want it, just disable EVE cloud integration on the main menu.

Ok... maybe I'm very mistaken, but this new feature does not seem realistic.

Obviously, I've never been to space, but I've seen plenty of pictures without that coloring.

Thanks for replying. I guess I'll give it a try and play just like that. :)

Well this is a pic from NASA during the apollo mission. There are a lot of other images that show the same things.

The color is a lot harder to see from a distance in real life I assume because it's less noticeable. Scatterer however doesn't desaturated the terminator depending on distance.

Hey guys.... LOVE THIS GAME! :)
I was playing a while with terrible atmosphere graphics and was so hooked on building and flying missions that I only just got around to improving it. The first pic is the blocky 2d clouds I had before.

screenshot30.png

I uninstalled the mods and searched for latest and installed them... It's a huge difference and i am really happy... but there is still a layer of clouds that is blocky with sharp edges and its just a 2d layer mixed in with the 3d volumetric clouds.... does anyone have advice on how i might be able to eliminate this 2d cloud layer?
The mods i just put on are:

SVE.All-In-One.v1.1.6

PlanetShine-0.2.5.2

DistantObject_1.8.1

Astroniki_Sunflare_for_Scatterer-1.2

TextureReplacer

screenshot33.png

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers :)

I think you still have the original EVE clouds , you should search for a folder called BoulderCo and delete it

@Galileo There are some know compatibility issues with version 1.1.6 and some other mods? Since I updated I'm having some issues, like the background flickering or when in HKO or around Mun/Minmus the atmosphere (?) of Kerbin flickers on one or both sides of the screen. I updated other mods  as well, I will try with 1.1.4 and see if it is there or not. I also had some problems with the KSC not loading, but haven't tracked that down yet, but appears to be related.

Here's what I see flickering:

And here is my mod list (with EVE 1.1.4, but I will test tomorrow):

  Reveal hidden contents

If you need anything else to help you track the error, please let me know, and if I miss something on my part, sorry :/

Great mod BTW, make KSP some much more nice to play :)

EDIT: There are some mods that KSP-AVC don't list:

  Reveal hidden contents

No, forcing OpenGL is bad. Try removing all of your mods and only install SVE and It's dependencies. If that doesn't work, try a fresh copy of ksp

HI, @Galileo, your mod is awesome and i really pity i can't use it on my "meh" computer, the performance drop is much too high even with the LR version. However i tried to use the para-sci config for EVE, found out it works fine, so i tried standard EVE alone with the volumetric clouds and cloud shadows and everything and ir works fine too. However it has no auroras. And i love auroras. So i was curious - is it possible for me to take auroras from your mod and use them in EVE somehow?

Hi @Galileo

I love your mod! The Screenshots are very nice and beautiful to look at. Unfortunately i was not able till now to get it to work in my install.

Stock KSP 1.2.2 - no mods installed.

I download your SVE Full zip.

Unzip into gamedata folder (HR version).

Result:

  Reveal hidden contents

Something seems to be misconfigured. But i did not touch a thing...

Please help.

If you need more info just ask :-)

EDIT:

I found the issue. Its symlinks! KSP does not work with them! So if you have symlinks remove them from GameData and also don't make GameData a symlink.

Also to get SVT in Linux to work you have to make some addustemnts to the files. See the github Issue for that on SVT.

Thanks a lot!

Hello there, I'm having a slight issue with your mod. It's a little agitating to me because the clouds are not showing.

The only things I can provide are screenshots:  .eJwNxMsNwyAMANBdGABTfoFsg4gFkRKMsHOKunv7Du9Vz7rUrrrI5B3gOLnSOjQLrdJQN6J2YZkn60o3FJFS-41DGGzyyW85OBf9x_7LYLMJycaweROMjc544LoQB3cSF_QcTX1_uxskdg.kvCgxdVwdxfcwNx07mVMVi4g_Qk?width=400&height=225

                                                                              .eJwNxEEOhCAMAMC_8AC6lqLgbwgSMFFKaD2Z_fvuHOY1z7zMbprqkB3gOCXzPKwoz1SLrcz1KmmcYjPfkFRTbnfpKoCBAm3RO7fSgv8iYPz4gCviErxD8kQgeZbSpbG6zY5ezfcHu18kfA.IaTIjefVj6MHWN0XKyjPoVIaxZQ?width=400&height=225

Is there any way of fixing this by chance?
