In this case, you are looking for the Module "MuMechModuleHullCameraZoom", which contains the value "cameraMode". There are 9 different modes which come with different filter:


Normal = 0,
DockingCam = 1,
BlackAndWhiteFilm = 2,
BlackAndWhiteLoResTV = 3,
BlackAndWhiteHiResTV = 4,
ColorFilm = 5,
ColorLoResTV = 6,
ColorHiResTV = 7,
NightVision = 8

The booster cam comes with "cameramode = 7". AFAIK the only option which doesn't got the crosshair and provides a "better resolution", would be "normal", so let's write a MM patch for this:


@PART[hc_booster]:AFTER[HullCamera]
{
	@MODULE[MuMechModuleHullCameraZoom],*
	{
		@cameraMode = 0
	}
}

The patch will change both cameras on the booster cam to "normal" mode, just create a textfile somewhere within your GameData directory, name it however you like but put the extension .cfg on it. Copy&Paste the patch into your file, save it and enjoy your crosshair free cam :)

That is pretty cool! Thank you for this. I should learn how to create MM files... Where do you suggest I start?

How did you translate all the other stuff without code changes? Did you just edit the config files?

If you can wait a few hours, I can do the code changes, send you a pre-release to make a proper translation (with a "localization.cfg" and "autoLOC" tags) and than we open a PullRequest for @linuxgurugamer? :)

I can start working on it in one or two hours and it shouldn't take too long.

Finally!  the stupid "Activate Camera" its now into Chinese!!! Your project is successful!

Been a while, but you could mount it on a small rover and then position the rover where you want it

Yes it works in 1.7.1, but if you have the Distant Objects mod, the , parts are correctly show but activation shorcuts didnt work (almost for me), can anyone confirm the same problem? I solved it unistalling Distant Objects Mod and works perfect.

Has anyone experienced issues with the picture freezing when you press F2 to hide UI while the camera is active? I wanted to make a grainy screenshot, but it just doesn't seem to work for me. Might be a conflict with one of the other mods (e.g. Camera Tools, ProbeControlRoom or something else).

I've tested all the cameras.  If you are playing career, you won't see them all in the beginning.

I think he means the "Basic Hull Camera Deluxe". I have the same problem. The only camera i can see in the utility tab is that "Basic hull camera Deluxe".

Are you using Filter Extensions?

what happens when you search for “hullcan”?

I don't see anything when I type "hullcam". I also used one of the camera's in a craft... which didn't load because it was missing the camera. (Fixed it by removing the camera in the craft file though)

And what do you mean by "filter extensions"? Is it a mod?

No, i just checked CKAN, i don't have Filter Extensions installed.

Sounds like you don't have it installed properly, if at all.

Indeed, that one. :P

I did some tests:

a) Clean Install, New Sandbox game (So i can see all the parts), with latest HullCameraVDS and latest ModuleManager= All cameras are there.

b) Same install and game, with HullCameraVDS, ModuleManager, RPM + ASET props = only "Basic Hull Camera Deluxe" aka "Cardbox Camera" is showed, and is not working with RPM.

Conclusion, is RPM or ASET props wich are not been updated in a while... :(

besides the problem with the cameras, RPM is partially fuctional, with some plugins have issues like ScanSat, but the screens are showed, the attitude sceen have some info flipped... Well, and i dont think RPM will be updated anymore...
