However, I'm kinda screwed since I really suck at launches & maneuver nodes, so if MechJeb & Kerbal Alarm Clock don't update (and I don't see that happening) I'll probably lose interest. Oh well.

TriggerAU has confirmed he will be releasing KAC for 1.2, sarbian is still active and has released a version of module manager for 1.2, looks like mechjeb will follow when he has the time.

Don't forget, though. I might have read the store thingy wrong, but IIRC if you bought the game before a certain date in April of 2013 (?) you would get all future expansion packs for free.

That being said, I would gladly pay for expansion packs to continue to support this awesome game!

im not!

Last I checked that promise was made for anyone buying the game before the end of 2013. At any rate, the reality is that software doesn't write itself and that services like this forum swallow large amounts of money. It would be naive to think the revenue stream from fresh KSP copies is endless.

I'd rather get free bug fixes and new content after paying for it, than no new content and no bug fixes at all.

Wheres that multiplayer? The devs (not forum moderators) wont comment on that though. Still waiting!

I am a little bit sad that I won't be getting bigger stock plane parts... I can't make an SSTO that holds cargo (As of now) And most importantly, a few more engines, and at least 1 of them should be powered by liquid fuel only... And 1 of the liquid fuel only engines should switch modes from Jet Engine Mode to Rocket Mode so it would be SO EASY to create SSTOs (Jet Engine Mode would be IntakeAir-powered, too, but that is technically INFINITE, so it doesn't count). I am okay with not having the parts, I can learn how to do these things that are a bit complicated! Don't take this as really mean or offensive. It is just that it would make it easier to do that. This is also a suggestion. :)

Thank you for your time reading (and making this happen),

I'd like to say thank you to all the Developers, Squad Staff, Mod-developers, Forum Moderators.  I've enjoyed all your work since 2013 and have certainly got my money's worth.   I've been glad to contribute to my favorite modders (as I hope everyone has) because their work adds so much to an already excellent game.

In the spirit of their closing line, "So long, and thanks for all the snacks";   I'm glad that they hitchhiked along!

Two things I disagree with in your post:
First: You're posting this in an Announcement thread. The appropriate place is, I believe, Gameplay Questions and Tutorials. But that's nitpicking.

Second: I posit that your suggestion to create engines which would make it "SO EASY" to create SSTO's would be poorly received. From my narrow perspective, SSTO's should feel like the engineering feat they are. The R.A.P.I.E.R.s make SSTO's easy enough as it is. Additionally, we do possess LF-only engines: the LV-N. It is perfectly viable to use an LV-N and some turbojets or R.A.P.I.E.R.s to achieve orbit on exclusively LF.

One thing I agree with in your post:
More, bigger parts. I want this. Bigger boosters is always good. They allow crazy-overbuilt lifters with next to no parts, as well as vessels and stations with massive fuel reserves and a similar dearth of parts. These are good things.

However, these are easily addressed by mods. If you want easy SSTO's, check out:
Orbit Portal Technologies (OPT) by K.Yeon, maintained by stali79. It's currently in a state of vigorous pushing for compatibility, but it's coming along.
Mark IV Spaceplanes by Nertea. Extra-large lifting-body cross-section with large, open cargo bays. Said cargo bays open in a variety of ways.
B9 Aerospace by Bac9, Blowfish, et al. Large variety of cross-sections, engines, et cetera, from small to large to bloody massive (HX-series).

I want some bigger plane parts because 2.5m module with wheels. Unable to fit anywhere, and I think almost none are updated, and I doubt that some will fit wheeled 2.5m cargo in the cargo bays. but NOT to take this comment the bad way...

Edit: NONE of the mods are updated.

You'll like OPT, as OPT is confirmed by stali79 to be 1.2 compatible. Its fuselages are also quite large.
Mk IV has very large cargo bays. From the OP: "It's designed to fit 2.5m parts in a cargo bay easily, and 3.75m parts snugly." It sounds perfect, once updated.
Likewise, B9 has some absolutely massive parts: the HX series. While getting wheeled payloads in and out may prove challenging, they'll fit damn near anything. If you can't fit something (not counting wings), I want to see it. The S2 Wide Body is very wide, though not particularly suitable for wheels, as it lacks a ramp and has a dropped middle.

So OPT has a ramp? Also, the link to the 1.2 version?

It should have a ramp.

Ok guys.  I have updated things again and releasing the more complete version of what I released earlier today.  This version is for BOTH 1.2 AND 1.1.3.  For 1.2 users there is a RAR file included that you need to extract and overwrite the 1.1.3 OPT files. Doing this will set parts to the new categories.  Check the Changelog for the complete list of @Spanksh's bug stomping and hard work.

else you will have a bad time.

Does anyone know if the release of 1.2 will be when each time area hits 0h on Tuesday?  Or does steam (or squad) take "whenever Tuesday starts in Mexico" as the release time worldwide?

They have not consistently released versions at any specific time. Or any specific day of the week, really, though Tuesday is the most common. Of course, this time we've got the announcement so I suppose that makes Tuesday a given.

I'd guess, considering they've named the time, that unless there is some massive last-minute bug found they're going to release it in the morning. But that's just a guess, and it's the best guess you're going to get.

Any other guess is just as good, too :)

I'm guessing we don't really know then... In al seriousness, their teaser video says "worldwide the 11th of October"  so the day is a given, I am just wondering if that is the day and time when Squad will release it (which might mean still a couple of days wait because of steam validation)  or if they already have everything properly prepared and it's a matter of pushing the button

I've been through a few Steam releases for KSP and it always drops there and the store at the same time. Like, within 10 minutes of each other if not closer.

So, can we expect 1.2 to release on consoles on the 11th as well? Or did the devs just forget that KSP on consoles is actually a thing now? When you are talking about release dates and you have a game on multiple platforms, you need to be specific about what platforms are getting 1.2 on the 11th. If Xbox One and PS4 are not getting 1.2 on the 11th, it would have been nice for you to let us know maybe when we could be expecting that, considering we paid full price for your game, and shouldn't be treated any differently than your other customers.

Preach it brother

Can I expect a ps4 patch next week? Maybe this seller FTE company you guys hired to port ( read as butcher) the game could be posting on this forum with some updates

As Squad has been stating earlier.

Once a release is regarded as stable on pc/mac/linux (and I don't think that will be 1.2, rather 1.2.2-3) it will be handed over to FTE who handles the porting to consoles.

Once FTE are done it is handed to MS/Sony for verification.

Once MS/Sony are satisfied they make it available for download.

I don't think Squad has officially said anything about 1.2 on console. And FTE is currently knee deep in fixing the mess they put out at launch 3 months ago. Nobody made Squad hire FTE. Us console customers shouldn't have to continually pay for that mistake. I bought KSP, not KSP lite, or diet KSP. Nor did I buy the game in early access. So when they talk about official releases of major patches to the game, why should I not expect to get the same thing that PC players get, or at the very least a date or a window for when we will get said patch?

Do you really need the same statement from Squad about the update process for every single update? The process is what it is, and if it changes, then they'll say something. But there's little utility in repeating the same thing over and over (hint hint).

Do you even know how long we've gone with nothing but "SoonTM"!? It took over a year to go from 1.0 to 1.1. A year! And all we had for a 'release window' was "soon". So put your big boy pants on and stop asking "are we there yet?" every 5 minutes.

This post is probably going to get edited/removed by a mod, but I don't even care at this point

Don't need your condescending remarks. If you are trying to start an argument by putting me down, I am not going to take the bait. No need to be rude to people on the internet that you don't know. If you are having a bad day, take it somewhere else.

Everybody is mad at everybody about everything lately. Let's ALL please calm down and back off a bit.

As I understand it, the console updates cannot go out at the same time as the PC versions. After Squad works on the code, they have to turn it over to be adapted for consoles, and that process can take a while. But console users are not being singled out with regard to differing release times. For complex reasons, I understand that PC people who purchased through Amazon and GOG.com also have to wait a while after the new versions are available on the KSP store and Steam. Each platform has its advantages and disadvantages, and I'm afraid that getting updates later is simply one of the disadvantages of playing KSP on consoles.

There is nothing in the dev notes that talks about a PC only release on the 11th. I guess that is assumed but I was just asking a simple question which I have the right to ask without getting belittled. I cannot even understand why someone who didn't own KSP on console would get so mad about me asking a question about the 1.2 release on console. Is this not the place to ask that?

Getting a patch a little later than PC users is expected, but when it is expected is about a week. What is not expected is buying a broken game, getting ignored by the devs, getting talked down to in these forums, and then being told, "this is just how things are around here."

I just bought Everspace when it came out about 2 weeks ago. I heard that a patch came out on PC, so I went to the forums asking the devs when we should expect to see that patch on console. The devs replied in a couple hours that it will be out ASAP. It was out within 2 days of the PC patch. Two days.

Also, I was not informed of any 'disadvantages' when I bought the game on console. Like I said, console customers should not have to continually pay for mistakes that we didn't make.
