Click Continue, then Refresh.

".deb" is for Debian-derived Linux distributions. If you don't use one of those, then ignore those files.

".dmg" is for MacOSX. If you don't use that, then ignore that file.

The notes say:

Hopefully that's clear.

If you're on Windows, one file remains by process of elimination.

I'm not sure if I've done something wrong here, but I'm encountering a tenacious issue.

Every time I open CKAN I get this error message.  bJ9qyGD.png

It also comes up if I try to refresh the mod list.  I was running a somewhat old version of CKAN (I had turned off auto-update for some reason) so I decided to get the latest one.  I deleted the old .exe, installed the new one, and... the error message still comes up upon opening.

@HebaruSan, continuing my trials from the 1.4 thread, after 3 days of downloading, and multiple attempts at installing, it seems to crash and lock up when "updating registry 70%"

It downloaded all the mods, and it starts to install them, but after this crash, they disappear from GameData.   I'll just install them manually then, but, any suggestions?

We've had one report of a similar error so far:  https://github.com/KSP-CKAN/CKAN/issues/2342

No indication yet of the cause, but you can try manually creating the folder that it complains about (C:\Users\Thad\AppData\Local\Temp\CdFileMgr).

That's supposed to be created by the Transactions library that CKAN uses, but apparently that can fail for unknown reasons. Maybe something with permissions, maybe a malware blocker, not enough info to say yet.

Well that's just odd, as I figured it would have been a base feature, but it's not showing up in mine.  And I can't scroll the box that contains it, resizing the window only resizes the upper box.

Try dragging the splitter.

I went to update KSP to 1.4, then saw CKAN errors and figured maybe I needed to update CKAN as well. Thanks for all who posted in this thread a few weeks back and then pointed out where the convo started in this thread.

I was able to update to "Bruce" and so far so good. Awesome community!

FYI if you have the Crossover app for Mac, and use the exe file from this, it works as intended and great. Just put the CKAN exe in the KSP folder. 

 

On the bottle for CKAN, you have to be sure to install Windows Netframework 4.5 and above to ensure it works correctly. (Use a Windows 7 Bottle 64bit. Windows 10 has 4.5 built in and will not work with Ckan Very well)

 

This works for the KSP 1.4 for Mac.

so.. new install of KSP 1.4, new install of CKAN.exe from here, all CKAN folders deleted, etc... I get a crash every time I try to open settings.  I'm not sure if there's a file leftover that governs CKAN's settings that lives outside of the CKAN folder..?  is there?  I can't edit anything due to this constant crash.

Thanks, this has been reported and will be fixed in the next release. In the meantime, you can work around it by clicking Continue and then adding a fake auth token.

One thing I noticed since the last CKAN update, and before 1.4 dropped... the mechjeb dev build repo doesn't work.  it shows an update, but if i tell it to install it, it gives a kraken error and crashes ckan completely.. any fix for this?

Even after creating the folder previously, I added 2 new mods today, and it threw this error again.  Manually adding the folder fixed it, again.  Adding and removing previously cached/installed mods did not trigger this error.

Have you tried to change read/write permisson over KSP folder and all subfolder ? To set read/write permission for all users on machine. You should do that only on KSP game folder, not for entire drive or other folders out of KSP, though.

The folder is not in KSP.  It's in the path listed in the quote.    But all folders have the applicable perms.
