BFR will be something entirely new - the first real spaceship. Not a capsule or a glorified glider. No wonder SpaceX decided to shift all big stuff to a rocket that represents a whole new quality in the spaceflight and is much more capable and versatile than FH. Frankly, if nothing goes south with BFR development, Falcon Heavy will be only a temporary, stop-gap solution to a lack of the heavy launcher.
