StrandedonEarth
I suppose the slide wire could be useful in the event of an RCS fuel leak....
Ultimate Steve
It could also be useful for pad workers while the rocket isn't fueled. If the tower or the fuel pipes near it caught fire or something.

They don't look nearly fast enough to escape the fires we usually see when rockets start burning at the wrong end. Is this more of a feel good system than one that's actually supposed to help? Considering that the only faster way down is jumping off the tower those zipline baskets don't look so bad. Edited April 4, 2020 by Wjolcz
kerbiloid
Spoiler They should use a rocket sled.
RCgothic
I can't remember who asked how the front fins articulate whilst on a curve, but I think this diagram is pretty clear.

RCgothic
Also Raptors! And the exchange above continued: And discussion of the raptors. The middle one looks weird. Ultra wide lens probably?
RealKerbal3x
It's possible they simply don't have their nozzle extensions added yet.
Wjolcz
I bet the middle Raptor isn't different. Seems like a lens + rotation + engine stand illusion. It's rotated and they obviously use different engine stands. The middle one probably has different dimensions. The one on the right looks completely different. MinimumSky5
I think that the one on the right just has its turbopump hidden from view, you can match some of the piping from the other two raptors to it to correlate it's rotation.
RCgothic
Even more Elon tweets: Starship IS self-supporting without propellant loaded. Raptor is maturing. Less wiring means fewer sensors. Edited April 5, 2020 by RCgothic
kerbiloid
Working under pressure causes underpressure. But overpressure with work causes overpressure. Edited April 5, 2020 by kerbiloid
