Spaceception
I wonder how it'll take to do all of them. Will they do up to 3 at a time after this, now that the first one was fine? Or keep doing one at a time for now?

Superluminal Gremlin
so we had a single engine static fire? Awesome. When are we going to see all 20 light up?
tater
20 minute vent happened, so this is on track for launch at 8:14 Eastern: Likely goes live just a few minutes before at this point. Live

Superluminal Gremlin
And im also assuming more engines being tested. Could we see a an orbital attempt before the end of the year, do you reckon?
Beccab
Great picture of B7's static fire Looks like today may see not only S24 tests, but also new static fires on B7 given that the chopsticks are going up Edited August 11, 2022 by Beccab
RCgothic
Now technically the most powerful rocket stage ever fired (even if at minimum thrust).

There is another in ~4 minutes apparently. 1 hour ago, RCgothic said: Now technically the most powerful rocket stage ever fired (even if at minimum thrust). Static fires have only been 1 engine so far. Or was one of those 20?
tater
No, both 1 engine static fires. If they fire 20 it will equal N1.
RCgothic
Yup, but it's still the most powerful rocket stage ever fired, even if only firing one engine. It's a little bit into semantics, but it'd be hard to tell if a minimum throttle 20-engine fire had exceeded N1 anyway. Today's test was a single engine for 21 seconds. Caught the NSF guys by surprise with how long it was! Edited August 11, 2022 by RCgothic
