tater
Launched moved to a little later in the window. So the stream will have "waiting for SpaceX" for a long time.

Minmus Taster
What of the sizable dents in the tank farm? Wouldn't those need to be replaced and reenforced before another launch?

Probably just the outer insulation, if the tanks are even in service

RCgothic
Possibly 7 minutes to static fire, there's an official countdown. Maybe a few slight holds first. Both tanks now completed loading.

RCgothic
FireEx. Deluge. Static fire! Short, a couple seconds. Looked good! Confirmation: 2.7s second firing, 4 early shutdowns. Edited August 6, 2023 by RCgothic
CatastrophicFailure
Welp…. Those clouds did look a lot more steamy and a lot less concretey than last time, at least.
RCgothic
Test was targeted for 5s, so half test duration with 4 engines shut down earlier. I'd expect them to repeat the test, that doesn't sound like they acheived what they wanted.

cubinator
The flying debris definitely looked a lot smaller than in the orbital test.

JoeSchmuckatelli
4 engines shutting down is a 10 percent reduction in potential, right? Any chance it was related to water from the deluge system?

Any chance it was related to water from the deluge system? I say its unlikely, its not much worse than the first launch. More likely issues with the spin up system and raptors being hard to start. More so on an full stack as opening the valves will reduce the pressure in to the turbo pumps much more than on an one engine test stand. For the water as I seen most is directed outward, for the core ones having the jets collide would help for the center ones, a lot like how rocket engines injectors work.
