They seem to have lost the ship which is… uh not good.

Nuke
missed the launch, caught the catch, ship mia, and i got to go.
StrandedonEarth
At least that vent wasn’t burning after the catch, for once
darthgently
It would be cool if a hardened black box could be ejected on its own LES prior to FTS. Hungry! Need DATA!
Minmus Taster
Confirmed, ship is dead
RCgothic
They'll have had data up until loss of vehicle, possibly a few moments after IMO. Raptor pi survived a second flight though!

RCgothic
Where is the ship going to come down I guess is now the question.
darthgently
Would be nice if normal ground radar tracking of space objects could kick in at times like this so we could see a whole ship, a debris field, or what

Otherwise it could come down whole in Africa or something? 12 minutes ago, farmerben said: Yeah. The only good stream I've found is Ellie in Space. Who else is streaming? I've always loved Tim Dodd. Pthigrivi
You can see the methane is burning off much faster after that first center engine goes out.

Hmm, maybe they accidentally borrowed a few faulty Cybertruck motors from Austin? There was a Cybertruck that blew up in Las Vegas. Edited January 16 by GuessingEveryDay Ninja'd without quote. Jaelommiss
I noticed a small section of starship's skin had peeled away and was flapping during ascent. You can see it on the very left of the video after liftoff. I wouldn't be surprised if loss of pressurization and supersonic air entering the vehicle caused the failure. Edit: I rewatched the clip and you can see the steel pull apart starting 35 seconds after lift off. Edited January 16 by Jaelommiss

CBase
They did lost one center engine at T+7:41, next center one at T+8:02 and the vacuum inbetween previous at T+8:04. Now Methan tank is rapidly depleting. I doubt that many engines failed in this clustering, probably rather fuel feed. Most interesting is how long the ship kept going with this asymetric thrust. I would have expected FTS to trigger earlier.

Interesting, was it destroyed during the anomaly or reentry? Looked like there was plasma around it.

It’s possible one engine did a RUD, damaging the methane line/tank and starving the other engines
