No DeltaV shown for MonoProp engines

Recommended Posts

Engines using MonoProp.

For the two parts from BDB* only "MechJeb" shows the DeltaV, but not "Basic DeltaV" or "Kerbal Engineer Redux".

For the part from Lonesome Robots* neither "Basic DeltaV", "MechJeb", nor "Kerbal Engineer Redux" show the DeltaV.

This issue is new to me.

None of the mods shows DeltaV:

It's not the monoprop, it's because they have decouplers (Lonesome) or docking ports (BDB) to separate them built into the part. Using a docking port module instead of a decoupler allowed us to get Mechjeb working, but there's nothing else we can do.

Pretty much what @CobaltWolf said.

It has plagued many of SSTU's parts with integrated decouplers.

Basically what these simulations do is always try and decouple everything they can prior to firing engines.  But as the engine is the decoupler, it gets decoupled/staged away during the simulation, so the engine never consumes fuel/produces thrust in the simulation.

Any fix for this would have to come through the KSP base code, to allow for parts to have multiple staging icons and actions.  Would be quite complex, and completely unnecessary with the stock 'lego-rocket' mentality, so I would not expect this to be fixed anytime soon.

(hacky workarounds might be implemented in the delta-v calculating mods, but they would be ugly hacks at best and a complete nightmare to maintain)
