Yes, but certifying it for crew and developing a suitable adapter costs quite a bit of money (the former much more than the latter) which ULA doesn't want to pay themselves. I assume that in real life that in the event of a successful separation, the spacecraft won't LAND ON IT and then fall over and explode, which is what seems to happen about 90% of the time in KSP.
