I know that this is not officially released for KSP 1.4.x and I also don't see a dev build.

As I actually use the build 3.3.17 from alexthomas this info perhaps can help you.

You'll probably have to ask alexthomas since he's the one that built it. & FYI it doesn't load in 1.4.1 either because he only flagged it for 1.4. I tried to build it myself and have had nothing but trouble, so I hope alex is able to put out a working build for 1.4.1 until linux gets time to update because building without it is so frustrating.

Perhaps I'm too old, but I only can see alexthomas on that github and I totally don't know how to contact him over there ...

Hmm, this is what @linuxgurugamer sent me prior I edited the OP as it was still in his thread:
