Whirligig Girl
Dressed For Success, eh? With the next version of KSP soon to be released, it is vital that we have a safe and totally wicked transportation method in order to get us there. Now that old 4-4-0 locomotive won't get us there, but my dear lady, the Flying Scotsmanley certainly will! Kerbal Space Program is getting an art pass again, so strap in ladies and gentlemen, keep your heads, hands, and tentacles within the passenger carriages, and let's get to the figurative art museum that is: Kerbal Space Program 1.5: Dressed For Success Red helmet stripes and yellowish visor, please! Otherwise these new suits look AMAZING Please squad. Red stripes on the helmets and yellowish visor. So important. I'll open the regulator to 150% if you fix that. New 1.25 m tanks to match both American and Soviet paint jobs. Edited September 29, 2018 by GregroxMun

It would be nice, since they already have a texture switch implemented, if they would keep the old textures as an extra option, although unfortunately it would greatly impact loading time. Maybe as an official mod... Or maybe KHI will be updated with the old versions.
SiriusRocketry
RT-10 and 5 cannot be changed. Squad, please don't destroy them... Also can we get an inline lander can? The hexagon edges on the can irritate me Soyuz replicas! (stock, non-making history 2-man pod?)

That would kinda kill the purpose of its existence in the DLC. Like, MH owners would have two pods with basically identical capabilities. @topic I don't care too much about the new look of parts, maybe except the Rovemate, as it's finally possible to tell where is the front, but them burn indicator enhancements, oh my Kraken, yes please gimme now

I silently wouldn't mind a more modern look to them. Many parts already got that since the evolution of KSP so if KSP is getting more TLC for years to come every part will get updated eventually. But that lander can calamity that you have, I share completely. I never liked it. It simply looks odd on almost anything. I don't mind it being there and would still think it looks ok on some craft like airless landers but I would really like a grey cylindrical version. I also really like the new mk1 cockpit model and the option for a white version. And then those Kerbal suits. I'm on the hypetrain
Vexillar
Given the extent of the art pass we've seen so far, I'm wondering how much of the game will look different this time round - a refresh of the opening and closing menu screens seems likely for one. The new delta-V readout on the navball has a slightly different feel on top of the functional improvements. I'll take a ticket, please!

Not sure about the menus or skyboxes or anything else, but titling it "Dressed of Success" makes me think there are many more part updates we haven't seen yet. Otherwise, the title is somewhat misleading.

It certainly bodes that there's a lot more coming than we've seen so far, and that it will includes long-asked-for improvements to game play as well as part overhauls. So long as there is significant bug-squashing to boot, I'll be well happy.

Considering that "airless landers" is literally the intended design space, I can't share the sentiment. I've certainly had a fair few times that can made things awkward for me, but I pretty much have to shrug it off with "oh you silly thing!" It seems to me that having a cylindrical version would be functionally the same as "go throw your inline cockpit in the trash". Wouldn't it? RealKerbal3x
Build the hype! I, for one, am looking forward to the new textures and models. But I think the most hype is probably emanating from the new manoeuvre node system, at least for me. 19 hours ago, klgraham1013 said: Not sure about the menus or skyboxes or anything else, but titling it "Dressed of Success" makes me think there are many more part updates we haven't seen yet. If they can create 2 separate paintjobs for the new mk 1 cockpit can't they make 2 different models for a single part? 20 hours ago, Aeroboi said: I don't mind it being there and would still think it looks ok on some craft like airless landers but I would really like a grey cylindrical version. It weighs two thirds more. That's a big deal on small vessels. With your proposed change, that extra weight would be in return for ... high impact tolerance, basically. OrbitsR4Sissies
The joy of this game is the gradual changes to the aesthetics. I didn't play KSP in alpha or beta but have seen many videos with that. The game looked promising but the stock parts looked, well, poor. Today with 1.4.x, I'm personally impressed by not only the exterior options (although more customizations per part would be welcome if it doesn't blow FPS or stability) but the time that Squad has taken for the interior options. I mean--look at the Munar Excursion Module interior. For something you won't look inside often, someone added those fine details (like the Apollo Optical Telescope, the myriad of switch panels and even an ascent engine cover) at a level that space enthusiasts crave. It's too bad that the MEM's RCS drives like crap all by itself, and you better not forget about adding a reaction wheel to it. Still. I'm glad to have started play just as the detail has become more realistic and beautiful. And I haven't really played with the environmental enhancements, mostly because it'll melt down my computer at present (but soon, soon).
wumpus
Can I keep my old "Hammer" graphics as a drop down? Hammer based design was something I loved when I was a new kerbal player, and don't take my hammers away! More delta-v indicators? Is the engineer report going to include delta-v? Pretty silly to include how much delta-v each burn requires if the delta-v during design is a deep, dark secret. Although the blog implies that hitting the launch button (and reverting) may show you such things, although since you can't lay in a burn from the launch tower (one of my long standing gripes) you are unlikely to access that data. A whole launch, lay in a burn, read the delta-v, revert to construction seems way to silly to get delta-v in unmodded KSP). You want a hype train? Try Balsa Model Planes. To me, hype trains require an observable delta between old and new. KSP is just too established and polished for much of a hype train.
