Ian Gelder (3 June 1949 – 6 May 2024) was a British actor. He was known for his numerous stage and screen roles, including Mr. Dekker in Torchwood: Children of Earth (2009) and Kevan Lannister in Game of Thrones (2011–2012; 2015–2016).

Apollo 8 Astronaut Bill Anders took this iconic photo of the Earth rising over the lunar landscape on Christmas Eve 1968. It is said that every human being alive at the time other than him and his crew were in that photo. And starting today if someone was to take another photo like his he will once again no longer be there. He was lost when his plane crashed in the waters off the San Juan Islands, he was 90, a life well lived. : (

Willie Howard Mays Jr. (May 6, 1931 – June 18, 2024), nicknamed "the Say Hey Kid" and "The Iconic Man", was an American professional baseball center fielder. Regarded as one of the greatest players ever, Mays ranks second behind only Babe Ruth on most all-time lists, including those of The Sporting News and ESPN. Mays played in the National League (NL) between 1951 and 1973 for the New York / San Francisco Giants and New York Mets.

George Masters Woodwell (October 23, 1928 – June 18, 2024) was an American ecologist. He founded several programs in ecology, first at Brookhaven National Laboratory then at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, and then at the Woods Hole Research Center, now known as Woodwell Climate Research Center, which he founded in 1985.
 

Jewel Brown (August 30, 1937 – June 25, 2024) was an American jazz and blues singer. She performed alongside artists such as Dizzy Gillespie and Louis Armstrong. Brown was inducted into the Blues Smithsonian Hall of Fame in 2007.

 

Wilbert Francisco Cobbs (June 16, 1934 – June 25, 2024) was an American actor, known for such film roles as Louisiana Slim in The Hitter (1979), Walter in The Brother from Another Planet (1984), Reginald in Night at the Museum (2006) and Master Tinker on Oz the Great and Powerful(2013). He also played Lewis Coleman on I'll Fly Away (1991–1993), Jack on The Michael Richards Show (2000), and had guest appearances on Walker, Texas Ranger and The Sopranos. In 2012, he had a reoccurring role as George in the sitcom, Go On. In 2020, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Performance in a Daytime Program for the series Dino Dana.

Romay Davis (née Johnson; October 29, 1919 – June 21, 2024) was an American Congressional Gold Medal recipient known for her service in the first all-female, all-black unit in the United States Army that was deployed overseas during World War II.

Martin Eugene Mull (August 18, 1943 – June 27, 2024) was an American comic actor whose career included contributions as a musician and painter. He became known on Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, its spin-off Fernwood 2 Night, and America 2 Night. Other notable roles included Colonel Mustard in the 1985 film Clue, Leon Carp on Roseanne, Willard Kraft on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Vlad Masters / Vlad Plasmius on Danny Phantom, and Gene Parmesan on Arrested Development. He had a recurring role on Two and a Half Men as Russell, a drug-using, humorous pharmacist.
 

Orlando Manuel Cepeda Pennes (Spanish pronunciation: [oɾˈlando seˈpeða]; September 17, 1937 – June 28, 2024), nicknamed "the Baby Bull" and "Peruchin", was a Puerto Rican first baseman in Major League Baseball who played for six teams from 1958 to 1974, primarily the San Francisco Giants. An 11-time All-Star, Cepeda was one of the most consistent power hitters in the National League (NL) through the 1960s and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999.

Joe Henry Engle (August 26, 1932 – July 10, 2024) was an American pilot, aeronautical engineer, and NASA astronaut. He was the commander of two Space Shuttle missions including STS-2 in 1981, the program's second orbital flight. He also flew two flights in the Shuttle program's 1977 Approach and Landing Tests. Engle was one of twelve pilots who flew the North American X-15, an experimental spaceplanejointly operated by the Air Force and NASA.

Didnt have much of an opinion on Simmons beyond the feeling he was way way over caffeinated. Dude seemed so unnaturally energetic and amped up. May he rest in peace.

As for actress Shannen Doherty, I didnt follow much of her work and wasnt a fan of 90120, but she was fun to watch in Charmed. RIP to heras well.
