Can you get science or anything else from the black monolith near the Kerbin Spaceport?

I don't believe so, but if you discover one of the Green Monoliths, it will unlock a tech tree tier for you.   They are randomly placed on each planet with each new save.

And I split the question off from the thread you posted it in, as the Green Monolith discussion will pull it off Topic.

The monolith at KSC gives you nothing.

All the other black monoliths count as "world first anomalies" -- so every single one of them gives you funds, and maybe a few science and rep points, depending on your difficulty settings.
