Why does my target match my speed at 2km distance?

Hello I have a problem while rendezvousing. Every time I get to about 2.2km away from my target it matches my speed. This is extremely annoying since that means my targets are changing orbits whenever I get close to them.

I noticed this only today, but it does explain some things that has happened before such as all of a sudden crashing into the Mun while while docking with my mothership last week.

I'm currently using 84 mods and I'm sure it's one of them causing this and I'm also sure there's some way of turning it off in the mod (I at least hope so) or I could simply uninstall the mod. I can't however figure out which mod is doing this so if anyone knows I would be very grateful for any help.

What exactly do you mean by that? You have a target in orbit that you are approaching, and once you get to 2.2km your relative velocity drops to zero so that it suddenly changes its orbit?

I don't use mods much so I probably won't be able to help you, but I guess it will be helpful if you could post a list of all the mods you are using.

Exactly what you said, my relative velocity drops to zero once I get to about 2.2km distance from the target. Since it's not the vessel I'm controlling having it's velocity changed to match the target but the other way around it means the target gets an orbit matching the vessel I'm controlling rather then the other way around which is what you normally want.

I have a few suspects when it comes to my mods, namely KOS,  TCA, KURS docking camera and docking port alignment indicator.

That's a bug.  There used to be a bug that would cause the target vessel to match your SAS rotation (which made it very frustrating to dock), but this is something else, I think.

It's possible that you're dealing with an interaction between two incompatible mods, in which case there may not be an obvious answer.  You can probably assume that aesthetic and informational mods are not responsible, but the only way to really get into this and figure out the problem mod is to start with a clean, stock installation of the game, begin adding mods, and try to dock until you find the mod that's causing the issue.  Once you find it, you can then go to that mod's thread and see whether there are any known incompatibilities--if nothing else, you can make it known to the author.

I'd suggest to start with anything that changes the controls or the underlying game mechanics.  I don't think kOS would be responsible unless you were running a docking script at the time.  I'm disinclined to think DPAI would do it; it's informational.  You should take a closer look at Easy Vessel Switch and maybe ModularFlightIntegrator--I'm not certain and there are better-informed people to ask, but those two seem to be obvious first choices.

I do realize that I can do the trial and error thing by removing mods and testing, but I was hoping someone might be familiar with this issue.

I reported it to linuxgurugamer in the mod thread. If anyone can fix it I'm sure it's him :)

I should probarbly cut down on my mods, but then again I want to add more of them.
