[KSP1.12.x] RealPlume - Stock v4.0.8 & RealPlume v13.3.2 [25/JUN/2021]

I agree your screenshot looks pretty bad, but that's also not how it's supposed to function. ;)

I made the traditional "mods conflict" test (removing one by one all other mods), but no luck !

I even tried to remove "Squad" and "SquadExpansion", which, I suppose, come from the two official DLC I own too, but the game didn't started anymore. So I renounced, because for this, I suppose I would have to reinstall the game without these 2 DLC's.

Here you can see a small video which demonstrate how ugly it is and also the plumes making this totally unreal arabesque rotation just after the booster separation:

So, back to my special version with all solid booster plumes config files removed, to obtain stock plumes instead.

If anybody has more idea, I would be glad to test again !

I haven't read back in the thread any, but I see you mention 'removing mods one at a time'. Have you tried with a fresh install & *just* Realplume Stock Configs (plus dependencies)?

Yes, the final test was just RealPlume-stock, as I have said.

Just FYI, while SquadExpansion does contain your DLC, Squad does not. Squad is the folder for your stock KSP content. Removing it from GameData will prevent your game from even loading.

I have a little problem with the srb plumes. For no apparent reason, the smoke plumes from srb's will just cut out whenever they feel like it, leaving the plume looking "naked" almost. I have my particle count on 2500, if that helps.

Do you have a log, perhaps a video or screenshots? I do know of an issue where the SRB plumes cut out for a few seconds after take off  (i have no idea why) but I would need some more specifics about your problem if thats different.

Unfortunately I dont have a solution for that. No idea what the cause is. At least its temporary at the very beginning of the mission. If you wanted good screenshots or video of lift off, suggest letting the SRBs run for a few seconds before staging launch clamps.

Why would you even feel the need to remove Squad's official content? I have the expansions and they seem to work fine.

However I was just about to ask if I am actually doing, because there doesn't seem be any plume on my rockets when reaching upper atmosphere, but I don't a reference to compare it, to know if its working properly. But anyway, it seems I get some extreme lag hiccups, specially changing stages, or when using multiples engines, is that an known issue? And finally, idk if actually due to this mod, but I don't get sound effects at all from engines outside of atmosphere, and I as far as I'm aware haven't installed any mod that explicitly does this, does anyone have any idea which one might it be?

edit: ok, I've found on the OP, that there is something about rocket sound not diminish with zoom, but it doesn't say anything about going lower with atmosphere, also rocket sounds doesn't seem to be tied to any specific audio setting in the menu, making it extremely loud at launch, specially with certain combination of boosters. I think there the issue lies there, anyway I can disable this feature/behavior?

Well you’re not gonna revive it doing that. If you want the thread to be active, maybe post some screenshots or something? I hear mod authors like to see their mods being used.

No rush, I was just asking about what was broken as that gives me more opportunities to practice making config files for the couple of engines that you don't have configs for.  I can eventually compare on how my look compared to yours :-).  I know that the kerbal atomic aerospikes are on your to-do list on Github, but until you have the time to make the custom effects, I was pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to make configs that look good (at least to me).  It is a really nicely designed system.

I'm having the same exact problem as ACSoft. I have the max active particles set to 10000, but for whatever reason, setting the number to something absurdly high doesn't fix it. It just causes a lot of lag, even though there doesn't seem to be any more particles.

For the first few seconds after the SRBs start, the smoke actually looks pretty good, but it suddenly goes back to barely any smoke at all.

I'm going to post a video soon demonstrating this issue.

Can there be a patch for the rapier vfx please because my Frances are tanking and I can’t individually select the engine particles with the smoke screen mod. I know how to use them but it’s just messy. Is there like a patch available for this bug please? I really want to use this mod but don’t want this happening.
