My favorite font that is on the forum is Times New Roman, but including all fonts, my favorite are Rockwell, OCR-A, and Times New Roman, but Courier New isn't bad. Go on Microsoft Word (Or PowerPoint. Or Publisher. Or Excel. Or Access. Or Outlook.) to see the fonts I mentioned.

IMO Consolas is better (less typewriter-y, and actually looks like a proper modern document typeface while still being monospace), but Courier New really is the 'face' of monospace fonts in general. So it's still OK.

I like Avenir Next and Raleway for some reason. (Avenir Next comes with at least Office 2017, Raleway is free to download and use)

Consolas is better than Courier New but not my preferred monospace. Those are Roboto Mono and Bitstream Vera Sans Mono, but Consolas does have the advantage of being available on locked (work) computers.
