How does NationStates work?

You create a country and then solve issues to make your country better... I seem to be a psychotic dictator....

Check your People tab...

4.2 percent die of cancer

40 percent due to heart disease

13.7 percent due to murder

42.1 percent due to old age

okay - do I have this correct:

  • If I'm not into / ready to role-play or join some faction... I just ignore all the invites.
  • Decisions for my government just randomly appear or follow the timer (which is over an hour)
  • Absent making a decision or role playing... there's nothing to do?

Okay - you fleshed that out since I posted last night: your country is psychotic!  (and frankly, your Black Market should be huge)

I'm apparently a libertine at heart.

...

I'm also a bit charmed by the absurdity of it all.

I misinterpreted an issue and accidentally banned all cars instead of limiting their use in the cities ;-;

I allowed polygamy and now my people marry cats.

Shrug - moving toward anarchy, I guess

Now I wish I could start over and do something truly absurd.  Like a hyper religious technocracy.

You can make multiple states and switch between them

Alright... well... you guys got me hooked. ( @Akagi, I blame you)

I'm now running a Compulsory Consumerist State (up from Corporate Police State) nation on its way to becoming a benevolent dictatorship - just because its rare and looks hard to get to.  My (starting) Inoffensive Centrist Democracy, which is a hotbed of libertines if you ask me.  Finally a Corporate Bordello.

So I have plans (obviously) for the dictatorship, am gonna let the Democracy morph as it will, and am trying to keep the Corporate Bordello where it is - because, well why not.

Anyone know who Poatar is?

my other one

I got this issue:

When newspaper The The Kappa City Herald referred to over 65s as “society’s growing burden” and as “unproductive leeches”, there was outrage amongst the eldest generation. Looking to prove them wrong, a number of them have ganged together to create the Violet Hat Society - a gathering of retirees who are volunteering to contribute to the greater good. They’ve asked you how they can help serve The Kappa.

Also, every single bit of text on the issues is about the PHART bill
