I noticed that too and also found it a bit strange considering their commitment to the modding community.

I feel like the original intention was to get the mod loader finished by the time the game releases into EA, since it's just sitting there in the code half-baked, but they were rushed and didn't consider it a priority to finish it before the deadline.

It's also likely the developers didn't include/finish the mod loader as they are anticipating making numerous changes to the code, thereby making modding somewhat difficult when things are going to be constantly in-flux.

I'd like to see them clarify that position.

I get the intent is that they would like mods to follow their supplied interface and I think for alot of mods that's probably fine, and allows for mods that are less likely to break between updates.

however I think there is also alot of benefit to having something like BepInEx also around. Being able to access or modify private members of the game is essential sometimes to provide new mechanics or have mods that increase performance or fix bugs. Yes it's going to make those mods more prone to breaking on a patch, but that's the burden for modders choosing that path

In the countries where "law" is not just a word "the mere accusation" is not enough. An arrest warrant is required. And the arrest warrant is issued by a judge on the basis of the evidence. No evidence, no warrant.

But. Anyway.

You are not exactly right. But, this is not the place for such discussion.

I would suggest to everybody what I usually suggest to anybody: call a friend or relative lawyer on your country and talk about. Better safe than sorry.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do or not - I'm just talking about the need to know the consequences (if any) on doing something in your country.  European Union, as an example, is extremely consumer friendly on the matter - as long you don't distribute copyright infringing material in the process.

So people claim mods will be the saving grace of KSP 2's performance issues...

I don't mean to criticize, but "improving performance" by worsening the visual aspect is not exactly my sense of improving performance. After all, you can simply go to the setting and set everything to "low".

I would expect mods to go into userdata, like save data, and not be inside program files.

Gigabytes of mods on a system drive and not where the game is actually installed.... sounds like a great mess.

Oh i don't doubt it and i look forward to when it's ready. My comment was about a specific part in the EULA is all.
