Latest Forum Update

I am pretty sure the answer to this is going to be some combination of "You have an outdated mobile device" and "Bring yourself into the 21st century", but...

 

...the latest forum update has broken my ability to use the forum to its full potential on my iPad Gen 4.  I can no longer tap to see notifications (people PMing me, quoting me, etc.), nor can I post from that device.  Things were fine until the latest update, which tells me that something in the update is causing the problem.  I highly doubt there is anything that can be done, but this is only the 2nd website I've experienced this on with this particular device, which means that, even though the device is old, it is still mostly functional.

I think its time to upgrade to a new ipad. I would wager that your ipad has not seen a new OS update in a few years? I say that based off my iphone 4 that i used as well as my brick of an ipad thats likely as old as yours perhaps older that wont accept a new ios. For me it was an update to navigraph that forced me to stop using my ipad as my electronic flight bag for msfs2020. As for iphone? My iphone 4 nearly bricked itself forcing me to the XR. Wishing im wrong about this for you.

Yeah, it's stuck at 10.3.4, and I only use it for light internet surfing and a couple of harmless games.  If I could play KSP on it, I'd upgrade in a heartbeat.  As it is, upgrading isn't a priority because, as I mentioned, there are only 2 sites I go to that are now borked on it.

We’ll bump it up the ladder to see if some backwards compatibility can be restored.

Heya, sorry the update caused some issues. I'll look into this and see if there's a fix. Can you let me know what iOS version your iPad is running? Screenshots of what it looks like would be awesome.

Also if there's anyone else who is experiencing this issue, more details would help a lot.

I just tested the forum features on my own personal M1 iPad Pro and it worked fine. Guessing it's an issue with the Safari version you're stuck with.

There's some reports here of a similar issue with older devices and the forum software we're using. Does that seem like the issue you're experiencing @Scarecrow71?
