Weird bug, large forums don't work in chrome.

As said large forums like Science and spaceflight or KSP 1 general discussion tend to give an Error 500 in chrome on my work computer, work at home, on phone or in Edge.
Is this an known thing or something weird?

The 500 bugs are usually intermittent and soon go away.    They’ve been around for years and we’ve never really figured out what was happening.     
if it persists beyond “intermittent”, get some screen shots of the issue and we’ll try to figure out who is running out IT these days.

Has it now but don't see how an screenshot would work. 
It just says:

This page does not work 
forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com can not handle this request at the moment. 
HTTP ERROR 500

But in Norwegian who I assume is less helpful.

Hey guys - I came here to post my own "Error 500"... to follow up on the previous report in 'Ask'.

I can add something more to the mystery.  Most subs work fine, but 'Science and Spaceflight' is refusing to play with my computer, but not my phone.  I followed Dakota's suggestion of trying to clear the DNS cache to no avail.  Also reinstalled (repaired) Edge b/c I thought it might be the problem and deleted cookies from Edge.  Not finding a solution, I've now downloaded and tried this from Firefox.

Guess what?

Firefox doesn't work, either.

I am currently logged in on Firefox and clearly can post in other subs - but even trying to get into Science and Spaceflight just times out.

• Science and Spaceflight - PC
• Does not work with Edge
• Does not work with Firefox
• CMD 'ipconfig /flushdns' does not resolve the issue
• Clearing cookies, etc (Edge) does not resolve the issue.
• Other subforums work as anticipated.
• Science and Spaceflight works normally on my Android phone using Chrome.

So: There's something happening beyond just my machine, given magnemoe's similar problems.

 

EDIT: One more weird thing to add: it only does it when I'm logged in (apparently).  Firefox did not save my login and I found myself able to view S&S.  Tried to login and the problem is back.

 

Appreciate any fixes you guys can suggest/implement!

S&S sub works fine for me on Firefox and mobile right now.   Like I said, we've been noticing these intermittent 500 errors for years? now, and we pass it up the ladder each time.   The problem is that it's only buggy for some people some of the time, and is nearly impossible to reproduce (and yes that's a challenge).   EDIT:  And with no direct IT contact right now (ManeTI has recently moved on to greater things), we just have to wait till we get some one from IT to take a look.

For me its just my office computer and chrome, it works at home, on phone and edge at work. And as I found it was just Science and Spaceflight and KSP 1 general discussion.
My guess is that it has to do with all the pages in the forum and the database call. One option might simply be to put the very old stuff in an sub folder.
