Transfer window planer & Alarm clock

Recommended Posts

Absolutely agree we need this, especially as players are encouraged to build longer saves. Honestly Id like to see a full mission planner that allows players to lay out, save, and append a flight plan to a vehicle which lists out dV for each leg to help plan in the VAB and keep track of your missions while in flight.

Just like other QoL features that KSP1 mods brought to KSP1, and even those features that the KSP1 devs brought to the final releases of KSP1, I see that this will first be addressed as a mod in KSP2, and eventually will come to KSP2 from the devs as a QoL enhancement...maybe as far out as v1.1.  If modders can do it, I'd rather modders do it and the dev team continue to focus on base KSP2 features promised in the 1.0 content - features that modders cant really do (or so extremely complex, will slow KSP2 down to a crawl).

I'd argue the Alarm Clock is a core feature of KSP. It took a long time for them to put it in KSP1 but I can't ever remember playing without the KAC mod.

I would say it "should have been" a core KSP1 feature however, was not.  And I agree it "should" be a core KSP2 feature, but its not here yet.  Who knows...the devs put in the late KSP1 feature for DV Planning (which with its faults is still a godsend to new players who have NO idea how much DV is needed to get anywhere) into stock KSP2, so maybe the alarmclock was felt to not be needed until you do science and really have a need to have multiple craft, juggling multiple missions, needing an alarm clock.  Sandbox I would say it more focused on single missions.

On the Duna mission, the mission briefing mentions that the phase angle between Kerbal and Duna should be 45 degrees, and even suggests using a protractor on your screen to line them up (which is a classic solution ). At a minimum, that phase angle information should be in the trip planner.
