I have tested my RTV-1B (reuseability test vehicle) on a suborbital flight.

Gliding down with comically large airbrakes. You can see the desert airfield and launch site where it was launched from in the background.

 The mechjeb landing guidence executed an almost perfect landing, only breaking off an airbrake.

Communicating to you from my PC, brought out of storage and hooked up to the internet briefly. Today in KSP, I validated that my computer stilll works (had to reinstall RAM cards but we're OK) and downloaded some new mods. My next task is to bring all the kerbals home in all my saves so I can safely install a life support mod.

I have managed to put a minisat into the nosecone of my RTV-1B. The mission profile is that the Rtv puts the sat on a suborbital trajectory, which then propells itself to orbit, after that the Rtv lands safely. This way I created a kind of fully reusable launch vehicle. 

The rocket(family)'s name is Gaia since I'm doing a naming scheme with Greek gods. The first rocket family was Hermes, the second Aphrodite and the third (reusable) Gaia.

The sat program is named Uranus, because Uranus was Gaia's husband (and child), since the two systems are so integrated.

Meltdowns career, day 52-55

MunMiner II had an "observation" while landing with tourists and rookies in East Farside Crater. It toppled over even though the incline it was landing on was not very steep. This old design is just much too tall. I reloaded to make the landing stick.

Time to retire MunMiner II and for a new design! Instead of refined fuel, 'Gege' will bring back 1500 raw ore to the Munstation (which has ISRU reactor on board). This and the use of Nervas/LF makes the craft more compact and lighter. 
I picked up some contracts for a "Kerbin Space Station for 5" and Sat deployment to offset the launch costs. (Please don't tell the client that his "Space Station" is actually a Munlander.)

The new Medium Reusable Launcher Mk II performed well. It put the ~ 45 tons payload into 200x200 km orbit and I was able to recover it 118 km from KSC first try. Got 55k back.

'Gege' also brought some rookie crew and a new module to MunStation II while I was at it, time for some remodeling to open up more docking ports!

Meltdowns career, day 52-55

Valkyrie left MunStation II for station 'Freia' in polar orbit. 'Freia' was the prototype of the 'Maia' class exploration stacks. It picked up additional crew and data with destination Minmus.

On Minmus, Sandworm returned to MinmusStation, its Piggyback now full of LF.

Fafnir + Reginn took a small detour to complete a rover contract. Good that it was nearby and I had a spare guidance unit as cargo.
The Fafnir refinery was then docked at MinmusStation. Fafnir also had some large docking ports in its manifest, I installed them in the old miners.

Here's the satellite. It has four lightly clipped fuel tanks, and a spark engine in the back. It is 0.625 diameter (the probe core is a Probodobodyne RND from I think Restock+), and it has 7 relay antenna segments.

I think the lore of it is that it's a "cheap" (because the reusable rocket) way for like universitys to put their instruments in space without the need to design a launch vehicle and a satellite. You can customise it however you want (inside the weight limits). It can also theoretically carry a kerbal in a Bd armory seat.

Today, ( and the past week : P), I made this little 3D animation in blender

I use blender a bit, but let's say I make objects out of cubes hahaha So I had to learn almost everything, but it was ton of fun discovering a lot of the possibilities blender can offer : )


For the new Kerbal year, while Jeb hangs out in an asteroid field, watching some Goo fly around, Robotokto-2, his fellow mechanical companion, goes on investigating a curious abandonned structure he just stumbled upon...

Today I built this: a Jool V craft (put here with cheats, as I am still to launch any module yet). It has over 600 parts, including 2 transfer modules, 2 Laythe spaceplanes, 3 Laythe explorers, a Tylo rover, and, nicked from previous missions, a 3rd lander and a Jool ascent vehicle. Expect a thread on this at some point, probably over the next few months.

No worries, now that I know how to use the calculator it should be a trivial issue. I don't think Beyond Jool is the problem, either, I think a couple of mods aren't being nice to each other.
