Should there be alien civilizations in future versions of KSP?

Recommended Posts

Extraterrestrial life is not sci-fi, if it were sci-fi we probably wouldn't be searching for it so much. Most scientists agree that life has to exist somewhere out there in the universe. There are billions of stars and billions of galaxies, any of which could be host to planets (or moons) with life. :)

I am really tempted to start a flame war, but for now I'l settle the differences,

I state that we haven't found it so we can't say that there is yet. we still haven't found anything !

You say look at Earth, look how many other starsystems there are, how could there not be.

Now I'm sure we could both statements for on and on pointing in our favor but lets let the others get on topic shall we ?

I'm well aware Tylo has no atmosphere. ;) Look up "anaerobic organism" sometime.

There's a pritty big difference between 'anaerobic', and 'vaccum'

check the south pole of duna..

Spoiler : The squid thing is already implemented, it lives on bob and is known as the dead Kraken

As for micro-organisms, well so far although it is a possibility, if you were to have jackpot conditions on a planet/moon (its more than just add water) sure.. but so far to our current knowledge any form of extra-terrestial life is sci-fi period.. there are no findings, even possible candidates that have been found anywhere in the universe as of yet...

not that i'm against a new science experiment, but i'm saying that as far as these things may be exciting.., well the science over science fiction will probably kick in.

Actually, Europa is concidered a very likely candidate to have life. It has liquid water (probably)

no it isn't. It's considered to be the most likely body in the solar system to have life after earth and maybe Mars. That doesn't mean it's likely. It's in fact exceedingly unlikely.

But on the off chance that anything might exist, it's more likely to exist there than elsewhere. But that's still a one in a googleplex chance if that high.

I'd like to see some alien ruins and artefacts to discover and explore, as well as flora and fauna for samples and SCIENCE. Another sentient alien race however would require adequate interaction to be of any value. That would distort the concepts of a spaceflight game in my opinion.

I think every planet pass kerbin should have some kind  of ruins in them hiden some were in the planet.these ruins whould the remains of some alien species that had to leave the solar sistem for some reason.these ruins would have some sort of data terminals that will have some data of what happned to these aliens, asswel some of them will give you new parts all terminals will give you an aproximate location of the next ruins

with career mode after sending a probe to Duna they will say that they found some weird signals coming from a part of Duna(the ruins).

I aswell think that there should be some ruins hidden in a forest in kerbin.Maybe the biome could be called Forest of orgins?.these ruins would have data from kerbal origins.

and there should be some kind of exotic planet with some wild life and plants never seen on kerbin

We have in-game evidence of the existence of aliens- a corpse on Bop, and a monument on the Mun. Plus some artificial-looking spike structures on Vall.

Single-celled life forms detected in Laythe's oceans would be a good addition, as well as maybe similar life in the seas of Eve.

yes but they should attack you so you would have to build weapons (like warheads and cannons...) to defend yourself with... but only primitive life... sentient but semi-primitive...

You mean this as a joke right?
KSP is one of the very few games out there where you do not have to use weapons to kill something. And this should definitely stay that way! It's okay if people are adding weapons via mods, but the stock game should not add that kind of stuff.

On Topic:
Adding some microorganisms to Duna, Eve, Laythe for studies or simular sound like a pretty good idea.

Existing Civilisations? No not IMO.

Artifacts from previous civilisations, we already have some, but a few more to add extra interesting places to visit then why not.

Experiments that enable the discovery of microbial life then yes I would be in favour of that.

It would be fun to find some altars or ruins. As far as life goes, I'd be happy with like a science lab feature that might allow you to analyze soil samples and maybe the results bring up a image of some bacteria or something (in classic Kerbal-silly aesthetic of course). There could be a large image library full of these different little microbes from the Kerbol system waiting to be found

This is my opinion too.

On topic, I like the idea of ruins of alien or previous Kerbal civilisations. Single-celled or primitive non-kerballoid, (is that even a word lol) life, that can be investigated for more science, might be a good idea.  Aliens that need to be interacted with is, IMO not a good idea.

vallian civilization, we have vallhenge, PLUS the SSTV hill on Duna, the cave on Tylo, with carvings. Those seem kinda connected to me...

The “ruins” on Duna should be around the sstv hill.

I’m also thinking of massive hole through Jool that has no atmosphere, but slingshots you through the planet at ludicrous speed.

there should be polar desturbances on planets too...

ALSO.... NO LMAO!

I think there should be monsterous ships floating around in deep space to be discovered and explored

Will be amazing to explore one just that I think that if we go there and explore it on EVA will be a little buggy with 3rd person

I think it should be fine, especially since they would be prebuilt models. most of the interior could be empty, or some things could be "broken" and then not need to animate, especially seeing as it is a millennia-old derelict

Please, do not add aliens.

Scientific discoveries of microbial life sounds good.

Archaeological evidence of alien civilisation sounds great.

Even an ancient and inert alien space probe to discover and retrieve would be neat.

But please do not add any Pew Pew Pew to this game.

This! it would be really cool and timely to add microbiological life forms in appropriate places and add a couple of science experiments - instruments to detect them and study them. Make them high value science returns, but hard to find.
