Daemoria
Seshins, Im still in the active concept stage for that 'little' project. But I plan on releasing it and my r7 clone in the first wave. You'll be seeing more of it soon.Space_Kraken, yea you can help out. I don't know the extent of programming I'll require in this mod, seeing as I'm still just doing pure art assets. I need to write up a design document sometime that will lay out what is going to be required. To all others, thanks for the comments and interest in this project. It keeps my motivation high to see such reception.
GoldForest
The last rocket in the your last post in the first page, seems like it may not, or just barely fit in the VAB, but don't let my opinion stop you from making it! It looks like my Nova Rockets are going to have a little competition in the large rocket department lol. A question. The grey part on the large rocket, is it an SRB that would be placed in a group of eight around the engine/fuel tank, or is the grey part the actual engine? Because it looks like it goes inside the main body, so it would be hard to eject it if it does go inside the main body, so I'm left with either it's a non-detachable SRB, extra engines for the main stage, or the main engines and the red part is only a fuel tank. Could you clear my thinking up with what it's ACUTALLY going to be? Edited March 11, 2014 by GoldForest
Daemoria
The grey part in question is a strangely shaped SRB that intersects the stage due to SCIENCE! I'm not really sure what i was thinking with that rocket in particular. The 9meter diameter bottom stage is just hilariously massive, the thrust it would theoretically generate would be enough to lift skyscrapers into orbit according to Kerbal physics. Also its apparently ~105 meters tall... maybe a bit too tall for the VAB indeed.I suppose you can make the stages into separate assemblies and attach them?In an ideal world I'd mod the VAB into an entirely new building. Excuse the very rough sketch, i just wanted to do something quick to show what I sort of have in mind for an expanded VAB, one that goes underground instead of building taller and taller. bs1110101
That totally has the entrenched missile base converted for orbital rockets feel, i really like it.If you're going to redo the ksc, how about big buildings with slanted sides and partly underground partly domed over tunnels connecting them and having the whole thing built into a mountain. It expands the VAB and SPH extremely! You could probably get mods made for Real Solar System to fit inside the VAB with that mod lol. As far as keeping the rocket within the stock ksp hanger, you could put it through the floor. The rocket will go through the floor if you don't attach a command pod to it. Hmmm. Too bad Kertown hasn't been worked on in a while(well, I don't think it has). You could ask one of the devs to build your underground VAB lolDon't let limitations stop you from making that rocket! if you need to shrink it, shrink it! We all would love to see your work completed all the way through! Also, any colony ships in the idea board? cziken20
Those emissives look great with green colour of those tanks. And i have a question- will you release a low-resolution pack? Then my computer will be probably able to handle this amount of awesomness. Ah can you also please try thinking of a bit roundier and smaller rover body? This one now just looks too rough for me. Some inspiriation, although i believe you can make it much better:And for the tall rocket. I think that 105 meters is completely not too much. In case like this i could put it under the ground, simply without adding launch clamps And i once calculated that VAB is about 150 meters high, but it can also be 100 m or 200 m. Daemoria
I'll put you all down for alpha testing. Right now I'm working with Kraken to get a rough config setup for the SRB and the associated rocket. Development is likely going to be slow during the week, and pickup towards the weekend. the plan still remains for 2 rockets to be in the first release, so it might take a while before I can get anything to you testers. Damaske
Daemoria, I LOVED the look of your first (canned) rocket engine, and really wished it was it not sliced and diced up like others suggested. I do hope that you still have that model laying around and might be able to put it back in and an extra for those the enjoy the ALL-IN-ONE approach. I've really really LOVED the quality of work that you have here and would LOVE to get in on the testing part of this. I also want to note that this is "YOUR" mod and "YOUR" Total conversion and that what you envision in inside your head and may be hard to put into words or pictures. IF your vision has multipurpose engines, pods, hull sections, and combination of all plus science then do them the way you wanted too. If they dislike the "canned" spacecraft feel then they can not use it. Why spoil it for the others that like the workings, and look of multipurpose engines, and space craft parts?"TO ME" a lot of these suggestions feel like, and I'm going to be blunt with it, "PLEASE NOTE" it is how it reads to me. "You fool you did that wrong! No no no stop! THIS is how you do it." I liked the right off the bat feel of this total conversion but i feel that it may have lost where it was envisioned. I love how the current rocket is turning out and look forward to flying it. I made a like rocket only using the stock parts and it flew really well. I do have an older single core smaller PC that I can dust off for low end pc testing of your total conversion mod. That I'll be willing to run some base KSP tests with to see it stock KSP is playable and such. I'll pull it out and get more of its stats, but I know its a single core 3 gig cpu, with 3 gig ddr ram, running win xp, and powered with a Nvida video card, though not sure what one. But it USED to be powerful enough to run world of tanks before the new graphics update. well its still about 2 or 3 years ago graphics update. anywho, I best be getting back to bed. but first where is that subscribe button? You'd just need to put the right parts together.I also see why you think that these suggestions came across in a very demanding way, but you must remember that this is the Internet, and things like intonation aren't really transferred over the web. If you read the suggestions again, but with a different intonation in your head, I'm sure that you'll actually see it as the well-intentioned advice that it is. I oftenly do that mistake myself, ESPECIALLY concerning advise on addon threads.

Wouldn't it be better for the 7 parts to be marred into a single piece. I've read the suggestions over many times trying to get a feel for them I will admit most are perfectly sound advice and all its just the 10% that mess it up. Mostly in the first few pages of the thread. But anywho, The bed, it calls to me, I must make the trip to the land of nod. I hope the sudden stop in the end is not too painful! The fault lies in Unity's physics system. The good news is that Unity has released a new version with better physics, and fixes will be implemented into the core game SoonTM. How SoonTM? 0.24.
