A way to fire crew

I find in really annoying that you cant fire excess crew is there a mod already out there to do this? or could someone make one?

The easiest way is to go into the Persistence File (make a backup) and go all the way down until you see CREW (It will be just before APPLICANTS) then just delete who you don't want anymore.

What I usually do is stick them on a "house" and send them for a retirement at the huge crater.

Either that or crash them into the VAB at 200 m/s.

To get rid of Jeb, (Worthless Crew) Bill (Gravity Bacon) and Bob (The Faulty Fuse) build a ship to go to the Mun, land them there, then abandon them (Quarantine) the region. I think Jeb Bill and Bob are over played any way.

An RT-10 usually works pretty well.

But if you're after something less permanent, a Hitchhiker pod makes a decent orbital prison cell...

1) Make an engine pointing straight up

2) Have the Kerbal walk onto the engine (it's ok, you'll be perfectly fine!)

3) FIRE THE ENGINE

Why fire Kerbals when you can just kill them? You don't even need to "waste" a rocket for that. Just put a booster on the bottom of a command capsule, put parachutes on the booster / command capsule so you can recover it, and launch it. Just let the Kerbals EVA during the ascent and they die.

I feel bad for writing this. Kerbals are innocent. Don't kill them.

You want a fired kerbal list?

Why don't just put Them in in a hitchhiker container and Land them somewhere? That way they are not killed

Because they will be in your alive kerbals list, I don't want them in any list

@montyben101: Post #4. It's not that hard. You're modifying a simple text file. Really, for so small a matter, making a mod may be too time-consuming.

Yeah modifying the order of your Kerbals in the save file is a no-no.

And you may underestimate how hard the mod would be to make. The best way to find out if you're wrong with that is to try to make it yourself

Personally I suggest you send them somewhere on a permanent mission (Like the South Pole) and then rename them to "FIRED" in the persistence file.

This mod appears to screw up my parts listing. I'm using Kerbal Construction Time. My guess is that the plugin get's somwhow confused by Kerbal Construction Time modification to the save files and started deleting the wrong stuff

Could you be more specific? FireCrew doesn't actually delete anything. Instead, Kerbals are marked as dead (whether they be fired or retired) and then prevented from showing up in the astronaut complex GUI. Your output_log would be most helpful
