When did you start using mods?

The title is kinda self explanatory. I myself stated using them after about 6 months of playing stock.

Some of them really make the game more interesting (Deadly reentry for one), some of them offer more boosters (part packs: KW, NovaPunch, B9...) which is always good, some add utilities and more options (Kethane, ScanSat)...

Which ones do you use?

I started with kethane or mechjeb. Dont remember although i dont use both of the anymore. I started after landing a couple of times on mun and minmus and had my first refueling station in orbit. Maye at around 50 to 80 hours.

I was rly sceptical at first and only started after watching some scott manley videos :P i use mods a lot now. They flesh out the game for me.

I started with mods when I got bored. Which was pretty quick. I started before Science was a thing and the thought of just going somewhere and saying, "yup, I got here" did not interest me at all. So I installed Kethane and ELP so I had stuff to do.

It wasn't long before I had KER, KAC, PreciseNode, and a few other "essential" mods installed and then when Science was introduced, I was too far down the rabbit hole to go back and play stock.

With every new version, I start with no mods just to see what it's like, but soon I need those readouts, better nodes, and alarms so I go back to the wonderful modders who make them all happen.

I started using mods after about 200 hours of stock playtime, and 100 episodes of stock let's play. Mainly cause I wanted the visual mods (EVE, HotRockets, CoolRockets etc.) and Kerbal engineer and alarm clock for obvious benefits.

I quickly grew fond of all the dirty little helpers - some of them not little at all actually.

But the gaming experience would not be the same for me withoug KER, PreciseNode, FAR, EditorExtensions, the Navball mods or just Chatterer, EvE and TextureReplacer.

after the first "Creating Firework Rockets" steps... Kerbal Engineerer for mass and DeltaV, and Procedural Fairings for Esthetics... Now RT2, DRE, TAC LS for hardmode, some science mods (Dmagic, Scansat and ltech) and some of the immersion mods (chatterer & better graphics)....

A few days after I got the game I saw a video on youtube of someone building a pancake-shaped monstrosity for eve landing. Upon seeing this I was like "this flies? you gotta be kidding me!", and a few google searches later, I've had FAR in my gamedata folder.
