Did some testing and these changes help the VA survive re-entry, though the heat gauge pops up warning of intense heat. breakingTorque = 500 breakingForce = 500 maxTemp = 2000 skinbreakingTorque = 500 //breakingForce = 500 //maxTemp = 2000 //heatConductivity = 0.1 //thermalMassModifier = 1.0 skinMaxTemp = 2400 And the Heatshield, I commented out these lines: //heatConductivity = 0.1 //thermalMassModifier = 1.0 Still not the best since the capsule gets hot, but now it doesn't melt. BDB Apollo has this module: MODULE { name = ModuleConductionMultiplier modifiedConductionFactor = 0.003 convectionFluxThreshold = 3000 } I added that to the VA capsule, and didn't see a change, but this was on a craft already in orbit so I don't know if the module actually loaded. Will have to try from a fresh out of the VAB craft later.
  2. Screenshot tax: Did some testing with the TKS/VA, and the VA still doesn't survive re-entry. Might want to check the configs for BDB Apollo and see what they are doing differently.
  3. Playing around with the current dev release on Github, and the VA capsule has a tendency to burn up on re-entry in JNSQ (I'm using the most recent dev release from Github of JNSQ as well). I decided to take a look at the configs.... you might want to clean up your configs mister! The VA capsule, it's heat shield and even the Soyuz capsule have some repeated lines, like MaxTemp is in there twice! Also it might be a good idea to look at the BDB Apollo capsule and heat shield to get better configs for the VA. I commented out a few lines that weren't in the Apollo capsule config, and I think added maybe 1 line, and the VA behaves better. I keep forgetting you guys use the Github issues function. Already known!

  5. It's worth a try. However, I did a flip with Lunakhod last night and landed perfectly, and that was really neat.
  6. If you add B9 Part Switch, I'd say welcome to family. Probably most modded installs have B9 part switch now, so you would be joining a wonderful world of possibilities!
  7. For anyone that is building or has built the ISS or something similar in 1.11.1: How have the Solar arrays behaved? I'm guessing no one has encountered the floating-away-solar-arrays of doom?
  8. So wait, the Habtech2 Solar trusses floating away problem has been fixed? Note: It happened when I put new trusses up on my station. Also I haven't tried 1.11 with Habtech2.
  9. I'm trying to get Vanguard 1 into orbit in JNSQ and KSP 1.11, and no matter what I do, Vanguard refuses to orbit. I've tried the Mechjeb PVG guide from Friznit, and I can get suborbital, but always run out of fuel in the third stage. I have the third stage solid on the 2nd option as Friznit's guide suggests. So did 1.11 break something, or am I doing something wrong? If anyone has a Vanguard trajectory guide, I'd appreciate it!
  10. Just wanted to chime in and say the Solar Trusses are still broken 1.10.1. I went ahead and got rid of the solar trusses I had on my station, and then I shipped 2 up and once the shuttle was docked, quit to main menu, then reloaded the save, and then went to the station with the 2 solar trusses, and they started floating away just like before. Here's my KSP.log.
