  1. This is my first post so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Okay, so when i try to put a fuel tank under a cockpit or anything else it wont attach unless i flip it over, but when i do that i cant place my thrusters under there any more. Anyone know why this is and if they do can they help please?
  2. Hello, As you may know I am not a newbie to KSP itself. But the forums, that's a whole nother story. I made have a few posts and submissions for some Challenges and many pleas for help. This is one of them. My question is how do you get a badge like the K-Prize badge, My Craft on Kerbal X and those ones that look like this: Can someone also post a link for the challenges that these are featured in? And yes, I have found the thread for the K-Prize but don't know how to obtain it. I have posted a few crafts on Kerbal X in my Kerbal X account (so I should qualify for the My Craft On Kerbal X badge.) And have built a few SSTOs so I should also qualify for the K-Prize (After I post the proof of the voyage, of course). But still contrasting my ability to successfully crash the game easily, skillfully and professionally, I am still a 'new guy' here. plz help Note: I am aware that you place these in your signature.
  3. So i'm using a fairly modded install; and i'm not sure what the "Default" behavior of this part is supposed to be. So if it's never had nodes on the top or bottom then that's cool. The part in question is the "Glenn Leg mount" which does have attachment nodes for the legs that become visible upon selecting a glenn leg; but no top or bottom nodes to mount tanks, engines, etc. So if it's not a mod conflict or a borked install (Which it very well could be both); would there be a easy way to add attachment nodes?
  4. Thread to post cool stuff you've seen on the internet and discuss it in a very general way to just see where it goes, y'know? Starting off, I've just found this on Youtube It's a Su-27 actually performing the Cobra Maneuver (the "I'm going to hit the brakes and he'll fly right by" one) DURING a dogfight (in DCS), something I've never seen successfully done. Especially when there's very opposite opinions on its usefulness during such a scenario available on the internet.
  5. I'm running 1.7 and have installed a lot of mods. I know this is a risky play, but it makes my career just awesome, so it is worth the risk. In my experience my career and setup is working fine. Still no crashes but I do experience some lag when moving parts around in the VAB, like shift-click to move, it wont always respond to my click and I need to do it twice or more to actualy have a response. So just in case I installed ExceptionDetectorUpdaed and get a list of issues. I am hoping you guys might help me find out the biggest issues and how to resolve it. https://imgur.com/a/vAUe9Ym Please reply if/when you see a solution or if you need more info.   6. Hello, does anybody here know how to rendezvous and dock with spacecraft easily and efficiently? I'm building a small station at the moment - around 100km above sea level, and when I managed to dock the second stage (comms and power) to the main parent module, I was quite proud, and I decided to go ahead and try attach the third and fourth modules, (crew and research modules) but then I nearly gave up completely when I just couldn't get a rendezvous with the craft again, even though I had a good 1.5k Delta V at my disposal. Also, anybody know how to directly insert a photo into these posts? Sorry if this sounds stupid. Any help would be greatly appreciated

  8. When I click to connect an anchored strut from one object to another, the anchor moves from the part I put it on originally.
  9. so i'm only really making a return because i have an ion-powered craft with burn times ~1 hour, but i can't enable physics warp for some reason. everyone says to do alt + . but it doesn't work for me for some reason. maybe because i'm on linux? i really don't know. (sorry if this is in the wrong place, only ~85% sure it should go here but i'm kinda desperate so :/)

  12. I own KSP Enhanced Edition, so naturally I was psyched when the new update finally came out. So I built a Mun Rocket with the "Pea" Re-Entry Module. I was excited to try the IVA. I click the IVA button. First thing I notice is the velocimeter. The meter looked something like this: O R B: 2 3 0 0 M / S Instead of like this: ORB: 2300 M/S Basically, the velocimeter reads vertical instead of horizontal like it should. At first I thought it was limited to the "Pea," but it turns out that EVERY SINGLE COMMAND POD has this problem. Does Squad know about this? Will they fix it before too long? Or will we have to wait another year for this agitating bug to be fixed? EDIT: It was fixed by the patch. Never mind!

    PC help needed

    Hello. I got a new, personal computer back in November or December. It was a little old but it got the job done. Anyways, I turned it on yesterday and noticed it was acting like really slow. Things were taking like a minute to start, some things wouldn't even start at all, so I restarted the laptop as maybe that would help it. So I restart it right, and then I get something along the lines of this: A disk read error has occurred. Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart So I press those keys, and it would start up, reach the Acer screen (my computer is made by Acer), and just have a blank screen of black. Eventually I got something like: There was a problem with communicating with something, file: Windows.exe in location, and an error code. Apparently the computer can't access my hard drive or it isn't connected or something, even though my laptop was working just fine the day before. I hadn't installed any new programs or downloaded anything. Laptop: Acer Aspire TimelineX OS: Windows 10, 64-bit It has everything on it, my games, photos, videos, music, EVERYTHING. So does anyone know what is even going on, or how to fix it? I'm writing this on my school laptop, so at least I can still be on the forums. But if anyone knows anything about this problem, could you tell me what it is and/or how to fix it?

  16. (brief) Discount on steam for direct buyers? Quite some time ago i bought KSP but it was direct, but now due to having to download the whole thing every time an update comes out (update might just not work for me) and having to constantly watch my mods so they stay up to date, i just want to buy it on steam. I know they no longer hand out steam versions due to it costing money on their side but could there be a discount for people who have bought it that would equal the cost on Squad's side for giving it away? Either by buying a code from the steam web page or some form of discount. I'd be willing to pay a bit more for a steam version. If im missing some fundamental detail for why this isn't a thing please tell.
  17. Hey, I would like to make a mod (a parts pack to be exact) but I don't know how. I have some(ish) programming experience, but I don't know how to start, how to actually make the mod work and what software to use. It would be nice if one of you experts gave me a tutorial or something on how to get to modding. It would also help if you told me how to make textures.
  18. So this afternoon, about two hours ago, my family and I went to the vet because we noticed a large lump on our dog Molly's front left leg. About 15 or 20 minutes in, they told us that she had cancer. We don't know what type, as they said they would send the stuff off for further analysis, but hearing this news I just absolutely broke down. Even now I'm just holding back tears as I write this. I love her so much, and I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know these things, I'm only a teenager. To find out that she has this has just absolutely killed me inside. I don't feel anything except sadness and hate right now, normally I'm happy. I just don't know what's going to happen, and that's the scary part. Will she live? Die? Have 3 legs? I don't know! WHY DOES THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN? WHY?! I HATE CANCER I HATE IT I HATE IT!
  19. I have an issue with indlatable parts from different mods - as example, USI, Inflatable Airbags, Contares pack and couple other. When i grabing them from part list there are inflating and stay inflated all the time in hangar and also missing a button to deflate/inflate (USI, Contares) or just missing any buttons in right-click menu and do nothing. At the same time some other mods (Notantares inflatable parts, Comfortable landing) work just fine. I have a heavily modded install (~>90 mods, mostly for parts) and not very good computer, so i just cannot unistal one mod at a time and look if issue is fixed - it would be PAINFULLY long process (of course, if i won't be able to figure answer i will do it, but...). So what can cause that issue and how can i get rid of it? P.S. English is not my native language, sorry for mistakes and that stuff
  20. Hi all, hopefully someone can help me troubleshoot. I'm getting pretty frequent "crashes" where KSP will stop responding and then Windows tells me to Close or Wait for the Program. Over the past couple years of playing KSP, occasionally I'll get these, but now it seems a lot more frequently. I have a suspicion it's related to completing contracts in my Career Game, at least I'm getting semi-consistent crashes when I've completed my last 2-3 contracts. Of course, here's my latest log file: KSP 030719 Time 2159.log Here's my mod list (yes, there's a lot): I'll probably just end up going through the usual weeding through mods to get this more stable. But I'm hoping that someone can shed some light on what actually might be going on with my log and contributing to these crashes?
  21. I'm always having trouble getting to the Mun(every planet in general too), I can land fine, Just its the part after orbit and before landing on target that I cant get. Anyone have any tips to help?
  22. So yesterday i made a cargo bay. When i use the mesh collider on the component without the doors, when i check convex, it makes the whole cylinder have collision. When i import the part into KSP, when i put something in the cargo bay, i can't access it anymore because there's a collision mesh on top of the doors. Is there any way to just make the base part collide?
  23. So basically i stared making a cargo bay. As i made the animations for the doors in Blender, when i imported the FBX into unity, there we're multiple animations. I've seen videos explaining how to animate a single door, but none really explain how to animate two or more! I got one door to work by just copying the animation name from the inspector window, but inspector doesn't allow multiple animation components. I also tried making the animations in unity, but that was even more complicated than blender. So i'm left with a question. Can you compile those animations in one and tigger it with a single module in the config or is there a different method? Thanks in advance.
  24. Hi, So my problem is kinda weird. After boring while of UV mapping the blender mesh, texturing it and finally importing it into Unity, after i apply the texture and the mesh collider, when i finally place the mod in the GameData folder, happens the unpredictable. No textures in-game. Just the plain old mesh crappy gray texture. It's getting kinda annoying over time. I've made a few parts before and the textures worked. Now it really looks like a mystery. I'm beginning to doubt blender. Although i've checked everything there, i'm left with no answers. I became so desperate, i came here. Could anyone help? Thanks in advance.
  25. For some reason, the font in my KSP has changed from the standard colors to a blue color. Also, the colors on my maps (trajectories, planets, etc.) changed to different colors. This happened after I used CKAN to install these mods all at once: scatterer scatterer - default config scatterer - sunflare Environmental Visual Enhancements Environmental Visual Enhancements - Stock Planet Config files Before this I had mechjeb and kerbal engineer installed with no issues. For troubleshooting I have tried uninstalling all mods and deleting all my files and re-installing via steam. Nothing has worked, the text is still blue. Does anyone have any advice on what could cause this, or how to do complete clean reset of KSP to resolve it?
