  1. If you wanted a mod, you should read this. [Mods that gives you extra parts] [WARNING: RSS AND PLANET MODS NOT INCLUDED] Steps:- 1. download any Parts Mod.(Simple) 2. Go to KSP Folder and if a GameData file appeared in the download, go take whats inside it and place it into /Kerbal Space Program/GameData.(Confusing) 3. Thats it, but if you see a ModuleManager File Put it Into /Kerbal Space Program/GameData same as step 2.(Simple Again!) Important: Any Mods that gives a new Celestial body or any structure or RSS Will not work on these steps. Sorry. Hope this works for you, and comment if this works or not.   2. Decided to start working on Part 2 of the "Return of the U.K.N.C." And I needed an exploration Cruiser so I decided to make a Timelapse too show it off. What if squad merged with EA and then All physics and realism was removed because EA thought That it Was too advanced for the general public (Like they did with spore) And To get to a planet you clicked it and it showed a picture of a planet with a little lander on it and that was it and you always had to be online, And it was free, but there was an unskippable add every 10 seconds, And If you wanted to move 1 Meter you had to pay 250$ each time, and They removed all mods because they were unofficial, and then sued everyone who did not Update within 10 seconds? and what if squad sent Armed Soldiers to your house if you did not play KSP for 24 hours every day for the rest of the year?
  4. So, this challenge is simple(kinda).You can use any mod, except hyperedit. The challenge is to launch a satellite on an atlas v or delta iv(doesn't matter what config) into a Molynia,Polar,or sun synchronous orbit(I know it doesn't matter in ksp but it is for the sake of realisim). Not just any satellite though, it has to have at least 2 small antennae(NOT communitron 16s) and 1 large parabolic antenna that extends on an arm.Then Once it is in orbit use some camera mod or something to take a picture and send it to me.(Also send pictures of process of launch and rocket).
  5. well, personally, i think it simply made ksp aLOT more confusing. but hey, that's what powers ksp players to go as far as they can! but seriously, that kerbalnet thingy will take ksp to a new level, it made it more real life more "hard" for ksp players to actually send interplanetary probes.
  6. Hi everyone! Update 1.2 has just entered Experimentals! We’re eager to finally start the next phase of testing and getting ever closer to the 1.2 release. During experimental testing a crack team of experienced and hand-picked KSP players will throw everything they’ve got at the game to make it bend, blend and break in many ways. The goal is to catch as many bugs as we can, and to make the game as stable as it can be before we make a public test build available. Those of you who’ve been around for the 1.1 update will remember that we released a ‘pre-release’ test build for everyone to have a go before we officially released the update, and for update 1.2 we plan to do the same thing. Once the pre-release builds are available you’ll only be able to opt-in via the Steam betas, or through the KSP store. We hope you’re as excited as we are about the coming weeks.   7. So I've been building a massive mothership that mostly runs on Xenon gas and the design includes a mk2 ring. I was wondering if anyone has made a mod that adds a mk2 Xenon tank? Even if someone just had the model files without the cfg, that would be fine. I could edit one of the existing tanks but it wouldn't be the same. Thanks for any help, Benji13
  8. Reincarnation A Story of War, Discovery, and the secrets of Kerbins' past... [This First chapter will not include Photos, I want to REALLY get the hang of taking photographs in Squad bought KSP, and to see if you guys want more!] Chapter 1 Spacious Might Kerbin, A small world home to small people. The Kerbals, with their sense of Curiosity and Accomplishment, are the Planets dominant species. They, as you probably know, are notorious for their mastery of traveling into the Heavens above. They travel throughout their system without fear, without Malice, but most of all... Without Common Sense Kerbals are known to occasionally do things like reset their Technological clock, getting attacked by beings from another Dimension, getting attacked from other forms of Kerbals, or even just getting bored and becoming lazy for a few centuries. So, every time a new story begins, it must end. All the stories are connected. They (mostly) are just in 1 continual timeline. A famous Kerb once said this, "All of the stories, all of the myths, they are all connected. For if enough time passes between these stories, they eventually converge into one massive one." -Karl Kerman, KSN Philosopher So, I will be telling you the newest part of this big story, where the Kerbals are almost finally back on their feet. Where they are finally starting to Re-focus on space after yet another calamity... The Kerbals are getting ready for war, which was strange, for the Kerbals do not often go to war. They are a peace loving race, where they tend to act as one single country. Sadly, now was different. For there was a new group of Kerbals that wished to end this long lasting peace. There names are "The Children of Kalamity" They wanted to rule Kerbin THERE way, if that meant hurting their fellow Kerbal, they wouldn't hesitate. They were also after an ancient secret, lost for millenia, that held an unknown power of great might. At this point, they had control of Kerbins' great crater and the surrounding areas. Soon, enemies of the TCOK formed an organization that promised to make Kerbin a peaceful place once again. The KU [Kerbals United] united the Eastern Hemisphere of Kerbin. They soon fought reluctantly against there corrupted Brothers and Sisters. Both are now at a standstill. Both waiting for the other to mess up, while they looked for the advantage. Currently, the KSI was the only organization to not join either side of the fight. They were also the only Organization that had access to the remnants of Kerbal Spaceflight. The KSI was part of their Continental Kingdom, known as the Vicksin Conglomerate, whom were currently trying to stay neutral in this Konflict to keep their citizens safe and happy. Alas, they knew that they could not stay Neutral forever. They asked the KSI, whom had never touched a rocket or plane in their lives, to develop rockets for wartime use. The KSI soon agress, but only because they badly needed funds, and they also wanted to use these rockets and planes for scientific uses. They estimated it would take about a year to get everything ready. So the Queen of Vicksin decided to task the KMF, or Kerbal Military Force, with the KSI to make sure they stay on task and focus on the developing of the weapons. At the SCIENCE! Institue building, the KSI soon started hiring famous Pilots, Scientists, and Engineers to help with the testing of these rockets. They soon had 4 main recruits. Jebediah, one of the few Kerbals to be around since the cataclysm. Bob, one of the KSI Eggheads who was the only one to volunteer for the job. Bill, a famous inventor and engineer who had re-invented the Snack Machine. And finally, Valentina, whom was once the best Pilot around... The KSI was soon moved from their Government Building to the old KSC location. They were elighted, extremely excited to work on something besides why “Green was the best color” or “Theories on how to make better Snacks”. They soon found the KSC in shambles, due to it being a tourist attraction over the years. They were given a grant of 25,000 Funds to start off with. The KSI was soon hard at work cleaning up the ruins, and soon had, well, it was a facility that is for sure... This was their new home, a place where they will finally reach the stars. [Even if the place looked like a High-Tech Junkyard...] The Saga Continues, but what secrets do the past hold? Why is the Vicksen Conglomerate so Bent on getting weapons? And what does Jeb know of the long ago past? We shall soon find out...

  11. Very simple really. What's the least visually appealing monstrosity you have ever defaced the cosmos with? (Vehicles made to look ugly don't count as much). If you remember, please state the purpose of that craft as well. This is a space station module.

  14. Hey guys, there was in idea in my mind for a long time, i decided to make a suggestion for it; Color filters! As many of you know, similar engined game "Cities Skylines" has color filter option where you can select filters to apply, so i thought why ksp cant do that too? They both have same engine, Unity 5! Imagine doing a moon landing mission with Black & White filter, or saturated flight in Laythe? Wouldnt it be pretty?. Here are some screenshots to help your imagination; Soo, what do you think, worth to implement?
  15. So since people on the KSP forums are so nice, I know I won't be judged for being over ten and playing Minecraft. I was playing KSP, and I thought, 'What could I do to actually put something cool on the forums?', and I thought of this. I have spent the last few months on this, spending about an hour a week creating it, and I'd like to know your thoughts (If you have Minecraft, of course). Thanks!
  16. The SMP Rambler ( Doom Class Destroyer ) ship is 3 decks, a crew of 160, The barge deck is 1/3 of the ships size so this things huge. I'll post more on the Project as time gose on and show you it. Brage Deck is coming along

    Type 2 - A KSP Short Film

    My goal was to capture a few brief but important moments in what could potentially be within the technological boundaries of a type 2 civilization.

I am going to start a new KSP career (this is my third one, in the past I played on 0.90/1.0.4) and this time I decided to document my journey and share some achievements with the official community. First, There will not be a super long description about my missions (only some key info), nor there will be any kind of videos, just screenshots. Second, I will not play the game and post everyday, only when I will have the time and when I do something a little bit interesting. Now, let's start speaking about the game; I play KSP on Moderate and I use these mod: My game style at the beginning will be more focalized about Sea&Air Missions, Space will come later. In the future I will fly to the most beautiful planets and moons of the Kerbol System including Mun, Minmus, Duna, Eve and Laythe; I will surely build several probes, orbital stations, rover and planetary bases on them. Maybe, one day, I will eventually reach Eeloo. Update 18/08/2016 at 17:25 Today the Space Program is ready to start is work, Jebediah has already taken the control of its first rocket and landed it in... water... Damn Jeb.   21. Kerbal Space Agency (A very Kerbal history) OOC Introduction: Normally this is the part of the blurb where a writer explains in great detail every mod they are using. I'm not going to do that, but I will list the key mods that I feel make this an interesting play through. (But more on those later.) 'Kerbal Space Agency' a.k.a. 'A very Kerbal history' is a play through of the historic mission pack created by @Whitecat106 by me, @RobertJPowell. Through a series of photo albums (note, currently via direct link until imgur album bug found, squashed and fed to the Space Kraken!), and hopefully interesting and fun to read blurbs, I intend to document Kerbal Space Agency's quest for the stars. Quite how far I will get in this quest, I do not know, but i hope you will come along and join me for the ride. With this little introduction out of the way, I'll now move on to the boring preamble. Table of Contents: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the beginning: It is the Kerbal year 1950. Following a decade of massive infighting between the kountries and kontinents of the planet Kerbin, peace has finally settled. On the 12th of Docenam 1948, which by chance happened to be a Brant, the 1st kerbernational peace accords were signed, aptly named the Docenam Brant treaty. It turns out that the governments of the planet Kerbin had managed to realize something that most average Kerbals had figured out already, that they were all just little green males and females living on the same small rock, orbiting a big orange thing in the sky, with a little tiny rock orbiting around them. One of the biggest ideas to come from the unilateral peace was the theory that there might just be things out there beyond what the naked Kerbal eyes could see, way out there in the deep, dark inky blackness of space. Almost immediately the greatest scientific and engineering minds on Kerbin began talking and discussing the possibilities of perhaps reaching out, beyond the confines of the tiny planet, out there into the great beyond. The newly formed Transkerbonian Authority took a shining to the idea, and a budget of 1.3 million Kerbits was pledged to fund this great adventure. By 1950, at a total cost (including labour) of 1.2 million Kerbits Wernher Von Kerman Space Centre (referred to from now on as WVKSC) had been completed, and the tiny planet's greatest minds were strategizing and formulating ways of reaching into the inky blackness. (WVKSC, 1950) The team that had been given control over the fledgling space agency were as follows: Gene Hackenbacker and Wernher Von Kerman, crewed and unmanned mission specialists respectively. These two were the hive mind of mission control, with both dedicated to the same goals very early on in the space program. Wernher of course had a much more in-depth role in the early years of course, given that KSA had absolutely no intention of launching manned projects until the space program had proved itself. That being said however, Gene paid very close attention to the performance and reliability of various rockets being used. He would of course need the detailed information garnered from early testing for his own manned programs, if/when they ever got off of the ground. Mortimer Willson, although not very scientifically or technically minded, was a very dab hand at financial matters, having been the CEO of the Bank of Kerbland for 20 years prior to his appointment as Chief of finances. Although he himself had no vested interest in the inky blackness beyond Kerbin, he certainly could not resist the huge pay cheque that KSA was offering. Linus Jones graduated from Kale University with a doctorate in physics. He had been a key member of the team that first cracked the atom, and was awe inspired by just how much energy was produced by doing so. It was probably his paper on 'Nuclear physics of today and tomorrow' that ultimately earned him his place as lead scientist at KSA, a role that would see him liaising very closely with both Gene and Wernher over the coming years. Walt Franks was just your normal average Kerbal until he stumbled upon his previous job quite by accident. Whilst working as a janitor at the KBC (Kerbal Broadcasting Company) in the former Unified Kerbdom head anchor of the 3 O'clock news, Justin Lavery feel violently ill. Walt Franks just happened to be in the right place at the right time. With no chance of finding a replacement anchor, and no Kerbal at the KBC willing to try to step into Justin's shoes, Walt found himself thrust into the limelight, broadcasting live to millions of Kerbals in their own homes. The rest as they say is history. It was probably a combination of his electrifying personality and his ability to be succinct yet entertaining that earned him his spot as chief of public relations for the KSA. The final member of the team, Gus Michaels is the head of operations at WVKSC. Although not strictly a part of the chain of command, his role is no less important than any other member of the team. As the operations chief, he is responsible for the hundreds of staff employed by the KSA as well as the Kerbonaut team. This includes the health and well being of those under him as well as their morale. Gene Hackenbacker even went so far as to say that Gus may well have the most important job in the entirety of the KSA. Throughout the years to come, strategy would play a huge part in how the space program at the KSA would develop. In the early years, the budget would only allow for a small strategy team, managed by Gus himself. This meant only a maximum of three strategies, closely monitored at all times, could be in effect at any given time. It was decided very early on that due to cost constraints, there would only be limited scope in what could be done very early on. Gus, after conferring with both Wernher and Gene settled on just three strategies to begin with: One: The public relations directive, codenamed Free Ice Cream phase I. Free Ice cream phase I would heavily involve Walt Kerman and his team of public relations experts. The general idea was that every kivilian that walked through the doors of WVKSC would be given a free ice cream, on the stick of which was a code that when redeemed at any participating news outlet, would grant the bearer a free 6 month subscription to the monthly KSA news bulletin, a glossy magazine created by Walt's department that detailed what had been happening at WVKSC over the past 30 days. Gus was most impressed when Walt informed him that the whole project could be done for a small budget of just 5,000 Kerbits a month, and an initial setup fee of just 35,000 Kerbits. Of course, that monthly budget was more than any of the early initial costings for space program rockets (not including overtime costs to get builds completed to strict contract deadlines!), but over time, with the press and goodwill generated would probably prove fruitful. After all, the better the agency was doing on the public relations front, the more money the Transkerbonian Authority would be willing to provide to them in the quarterly budget. Two: Scientific endeavours I, code named local Science phase I This strategy involved Gus working very closely with Linus Jones on an appropriate plan of action regarding scientific experimentation. Phase one simply involved a down payment of 5,000 Kerbits from the budget to kick-start the development of new scientific instruments, all of which would need to be trialed at WVKSC to test their validity and performance before being inserted onto expensive probe cores for experimentation out in the big bad world! (and beyond!). This strategy was of course much less glamorous than project Free Ice Cream, but it was no less important. The key deciding factor in implementation though, the cost. All that would have to be paid for on top of the initial outlay of 5,000 Kerbits was the cost of the experiment modules themselves. Two: Scientific endeavours II, code named To Boldly Go phase I To boldly go was more of a Government project rather than a proper strategy. Gus somehow managed to convince the Transkerbonian Authority that paying the KSA Kerbits every time new information was found out about a biome wasn't necessarily a bad idea. The Authority bought the preamble and immediately signed up, though they did state unequivocally that the funding would be limited to just 1.5K Kerbits. Gus was completely fine with this and signed the contract there and then. Wernher thought he could have gotten slightly more but Gus explained that the plan was so audacious he did not want to pus his luck. The greatest of things more often than not are born from the most humblest of beginnings. This is very much the case with regards to the technology at the disposal of the engineering and scientific teams at the KSA.   24. So my brother claims he built the Dynawing Space Shuttle from Kerbal Space Program. Dispite my best efforts, he still promised he built the craft. Can someone please give me evidence that he never built it I'm begging you!!!
  25. Since yesterday was the launch of Apollo 11, I decided to recreate the launch in KSP. So, I will post this mission report as it goes along, posting one post a day to summarized what happened on that day in real life. As for today, I will post what happened today and yesterday. So, lets begin! Chapter 1: Day 1 Yesterday, July 16, is the launch of Apollo 11 Here Jeb, Bill and Bob get ready to launch. The launch tower retracts before launch T-minus 10, 9, 8 , 7 , 6, 5... 4, 3, 2, 1, ignition... Liftoff, Liftoff for Apollo 11! We have cleared the tower! The rest of the launch is rather boring, so I hadn't took pictures of the launch. The third stage igniting to plot a Moon Intercept. And that concludes our first day. Chapter 2: Day 2 The second day is rather ineventful, so there are only four images: Apollo 11 with Earth and Saturn (in the upper left) Another view of Earth and Saturn A shot with Saturn on the upper right and Mars on the right A view of Earth from the cockpit And that concludes Day 1 and Day 2!
