  1. According to Mihara, there should be no difference for the end user from 0.17 to 0.18. Things that were updated to use 0.17 will work fine with 0.18. No official word on MM, but I highly doubt it wouldn't be backwards-compatible. I haven't tested SP+ fully in x64, but it's present and I haven't had any crashes at all, so make of that what you will *shrugs*
  2. And this is the moment where I look like an idiot because although it's in that list, it's also set to None, not Instantly like the others. Which is odd because I don't remember doing that.. oh well, I changed it to Instantly like the others, should be good to go. Thanks for the help!
  3. Yep, its in that list, along with other threads i get email notifications from (including this one).
  4. No, it identifies the player, not you. It say, to expand on what xcorps said, "player abfj4hf947fkg played KSP x64 for an hour, resulted in a crash with no mods". There's no way to bind that player ID to a specific person e.g. you.
  5. From the ModStats OP: The second DLL is JsonFx, an open-source library for parsing and generating JSON strings. It's used to communicate with the statistics server.
  6. Such as....? Data collection and retention refer to personal information such as names, credit card numbers, addresses, that kind of thing. Not video game usage statistics. IP addresses are not personally identifiable and the only other ID sent is a random string of numbers and letters. But honestly, I don't care enough about this issue to argue. I've mentioned how to permanently disable it, it's pretty easily done, and it's clear people against ModStats aren't going to be convinced. So I'm not saying any more because frankly, I don't care enough.
  7. Then do what I did - create a folder called ModStatistics in Gamedata and in it, put a new text document called settings.cfg. In that, write "disabled = true". You are then free to delete the ModStats dll (and any future ones) - this ensures it will not run because it doesn't exist.
  8. Fuel tanks! I'm pretty happy using textures from KSPRC for the command pods and utility stuff, but the fuel tanks look like poo. You could ask Kyle or Winston for a sneak peak at v2.6 of KW for some thematic ideas, but either way, something that looks nice next to the NASA parts. Ooh, and the RCS tanks plz. They look like poo as well.
  9. I'm subscribed to a lot of threads. I have it set up so that I get emailed instantly if a new post comes through. For all but one of them (as far as I can tell), this works, but for that one, the SpaceplanePlus release thread, I get nothing. It says I'm subscribed in my subscription list, I have the option to unsubscribe when I click on Thread Tools there, but I get no emails regarding new posts. Why is those things and how can I fix it?
  10. My pleasure entirely! I updated the Curse description to include a link for KAS compatibility as well, in case anyone was yearning after that but had for any reason been unable to make it so. Here's to a bright future!
  11. I was half-expecting a TM to appear beside the "soon".. KSP has ruined me
  12. 2.5m.. 3.75m.. awww yiiiis 5m... This will easily replace NP, I can't take much more teasing.. my hype levels are on overdrive!
  13. The two, in my mind, are not mutually exclusive. Yes, they become easier and sometimes, that can result in a more enjoyable experience (e.g Bioshock Infinite which automatically quicksaved at almost every possible major event), but in KSP, this means you just simply cannot fail and given the indispensable nature of kerbals, I don't feel much remorse when things end up FUBAR. It just means a 'sigh, revert to launch and let's not repeat that mistake'. I don't like playing like that, is all.
  14. Post screenshot of your Gamedata folder - unsatisfied :NEEDS are due to the required plugin/folder not being present.
  15. Admittadly I haven't updated, but does that fix the fact the KER toolbar icon persists in the KSC scene? What I did: stock parts fulfilling various contracts landed at Kerbin, KER added to all pods with MM, once contracts complete, recover vessel and then the above screen.
  16. The reason they're hidden is because they have unmet :NEEDS - I seem to recall something in the output_log.txt about 'not applying patch because its :NEEDS were not satisfied' or something. So yeah, your output_log.txt would be the first place to look.
  17. I agree with your main point, but I have to target this sentence in particular - the advances and rewards on contracts are (at the moment) more than enough to fund a profitable space program. The recovery refunds are meant as a bonus IF you return a vessel, they're not a goal or anything like it, they're not supposed to be a 'recover ALL the things!" but literally just 'you managed to recover this thing? Kudos, here's some cash'.
  18. Yes it works. And it also has annoying problems. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
  19. Because I don't want the game to hold my hand through everything, that's all. Sure, teach me the basics, the key bindings, but I want to be free to explore, to create, to succeed and to fail in this game. In every game, in fact. Knowing that I don't need to worry about mistakes makes for boring gameplay for me - especially in KSP. If I forget solar panels on a craft and I get to Minmus before I remember, I don't want to be like 'meh, I'll just reload and start again' because that removes some of the challenge and excitement for me. Random failures don't particularly interest me because they're random but yes, I do believe that mistakes should be learnt from.
