  1. As far as something for bases to do, Squad should really consider science over time. This would give reason to space stations and ground bases alike. It's also reminiscent of what we actually do with stations now. I have no problem with free fuel, as long as every planet and moon isn't covered with it from head to toe. One of my criticisms with Karbonite is that it seems to be everywhere: land, air, and sea. Still love your work RoverDude!
  2. RPM and a stock option for 1st person EVA would really make my day.
  3. I've tried CKAN on a few occasions, but typically install the manual way. Currently messing around with an RSS linux install with far to many mods. Have a stock windows install I mess around with new mods in, though KER is always installed on that one. I have a semi-realism windows install I'm not playing to much these days. To be honest, I'm on a half-break right now, waiting to see how 1.0 turns out.
  4. Infrastructure costs are already in place through building upgrades.
  5. It's easy to get burnt out after so many hours. I wouldn't feel to bad. - - - Updated - - - You're right. I criticize only for the fame and rep, and not because I actually think the game can be so much more than what it currently is. I will change my ways immediately.
  6. I'd also like to add that, even if there may be down sides to not loading part textures, having all the HD planet textures in memory all the time is unnecessary.
  7. Indeed. So many games have used time (including fast forward) to great benefit. It's just amazing to me that Squad are so intent on avoiding it.
  8. I just split my 256Gb SSD into 2 partitions, and dual boot. I also have a HDD for shared files though.
  9. That 16GBs isn't going to help much with a 32bit game. I'd say your a ram toaster.
  10. XCom is a great example, as is Civilization 5. The "one more turn" addiction of those games is only present because of time-based mechanics.
  11. This pretty much sums it up for me. I typically run around 40 mods.
  12. I actually think it's nice to have a stupid thread every now and again, so I'm fine with it. Especially considering how cool the forum is the rest of the time. Completely agree with this, but them business deals keeping that 1.0 train moving.
  13. In the mean time, yes, he could use a mod. This is a suggestion for the stock game, though. One, in which, I very much support.
  14. Completely agree. So many games have used time-based mechanics to great effect. Many of these also have time warp.
  15. Dead bugs Proper aerodynamics Re-entry heat Fairings Kerbal clamber Delta v readout (KSP 1.0 without it is unacceptable) ... A decent tech tree, but I'm keeping my hopes low on this one.
  16. The business deals have gone through! Thanks to EA, Kerbal Space Program will now be on Origin with the 1.0 release. We'd like to thank our community for supporting us through this endeavour. Without the support, we would have never felt confident in pushing so quickly to 1.0. Great things to come! Keep on eye on Twitter and Reddit for more! - Squad PR (not actually Squad PR)
  17. I'd just like to repeat my stance that career should run off a periodic budget of some sort. I've been doing this in sandbox with life support and it's created some very interest game play situations. This sort of budget would also not be hindered by Kerbals earning salaries. With the current system, salaries would only increase the grind that already exists.
  18. I chose "Hardcore" re-entry damage since any difficulty involved has been highly exaggerated, much the same as life support. For a more eloquent explanation:
  19. Finally. Squad adding some realism to the game.
