  1. Parts that add features to the game, such as hinges and an attachment system.
  2. Sounds good to me. - - - Updated - - - I don't think the game actually tells you this is an option. So, I don't blame you for not knowing about it. - - - Updated - - - I see this argument a lot, but I don't buy it. GTA DLC is story based, not feature based. EDIT: GTA did add multiplayer post release, though it was meant for release. I'd wager, the amount of actual feature updates post 1.0 is quite low. Exceptions I can think of being XCOM and Civilization 5. (There are more, but even naming tens of games would still be a drop in the bucket in a sea of releases.) I don't consider new maps or weapons as new features. Those are expansions to existing features.
  3. Condensed to the points many of us have been harping on for quite some time now. Glad to see a new player confirming my opinions on the matter.
  4. Read up to page 5. I'll finish the thread in a moment. There needs to be more discussion about water. The 1.0 release of a "simulation" space flight game should have water that's safer to land on than...land. I'm sure most average joe's who've seen a pod splash down have seen it splash down in water. Hence the name. Landing in water will most likely be the first thing a new player tries. To have their rocket spontaneously combust on water when they may only break an engine on land is not acceptable.
  5. I'd be fine with just a snap / no snap selection. I'd also have snapping take priority in case two ports contradicted each other. Putting a toggle in the drop down menu of docking ports while in flight could also be useful.
  6. I'm not to disappointed. Squadcast has been a constant for many Muns now. Missing a few weeks isn't that big a deal.
  7. I know it's meant to be funny, but I can't help but sigh and shake my head a little.
  8. I'm not sure where you're getting the notion that models need to be redone again and again. - - - Updated - - - So, you're saying there isn't a defined KSP style then?
  9. I know people won't want to hear this, but I hope the release is still quite a ways off. They're adding major new systems and not using the ready and willing beta testers at their disposal. This means they have to rely on internal testing. I say take your time. Make sure the tech tree isn't trash. Make contracts fun. (However you do that.) Plug the leaks and batten down the hatches. This is 1.0. Whatever Squad wants us to think that means, it means something very specific to average Joe consumer.
  10. As far as Squad doing something new and fresh. Gizmos were a godsend.
  11. I am not a fan of locking necessary information behind a paywall.
  12. It'd be nice if they added more actual scientific equipment rather than mysterious goo container and nondescript science lab.
  13. Perhaps, at one point, mankind or manned were gendered terms, but I think they've become more generalized at this point.
  14. I could say why I think 1.0 is important, but it's all be said before. The bottom line, in relevance to this thread, is that Squad is not halting production, and has continuously stated this point.
  15. I can only choose one? I suppose I'll pick space flight simulator.
  16. In my opinion, career mode simply isn't fun. Silly contracts and poor tech progression really hurt the experience. This means I'm left to create my own progression through self-imposed budgets within sandbox.
  17. I'm somehow doubting the feasibility of this. Then again, I have played Universe Sandbox.
  18. Here's a few reading recommendations: Save the Cat by Blake Snyder Story by Robert McKee Screenplay by Syd Field I've tried writing the great American novel, but never quite managed it. I'm much better with music. Anyway, a few of my favorite tips are as follows: - Show don't tell. Everyone even slightly interested in writing has heard this. - Explaining a bad idea does not make it a good idea. - Don't be afraid to kill your darlings. If a scene doesn't fit, delete it. If a line of dialog doesn't work, delete it. Etc, etc. The audience doesn't care how much you love it. If it doesn't work, delete, delete, delete.
  19. I believe it has to do with rendering the planet.
  20. The Space Lounge - "Off-duty chatter on any topic except KSP" So this topic isn't KSP related? Ok. - - - Updated - - - Money.
