He posted in the ALCOR thread today. Now I admit everyone is being a tad loose with the term "back" however his post seemed pretty optimistic. Today its IVA pictures, tomorrow its development pictures, next week its a pre-release, etc. Thats obviously really optimistic but whatever its KSP! Anything can happen!

I agree and I also disagree. It does look too plain and real rockets tend to be more boring looking than people imagine. However real rockets have little bits aka greebles. So I would say if you can add greebles that make it look less plain. Look at the Atlas V its boring but a the same time its interesting.

Could a private company make a new space shuttle.
sp1989 replied to YoetoJoe's topic in Science & Spaceflight
That is a good question. I think if you were to build a shuttle certain improvements must be made. A proper abort system must be considered is one of my main concerns. That being said and I love the space shuttle, its not really necessary. The internatonal Space Station has proved that although the space shuttle was key to building it, a shuttle is not necessary. The russian segment were launched on proton rockets and then manned by soyuz. Soyuz are still being used. The most efficient way to get people to and from the space station is a capsule. Orion, Dragon, and CST-100, all can hold 5+ people. Cargo to orbit is done with Dragon, ATV, Cygnus, Progress, and more. So everything can be done with out the space shuttle and at a much lower price tag. So what I am trying to get at is, why would someone want to make a new space shuttle? The only viable use would be for tourism and that I am 100% behind. Still capsules would be more efficient. You can't leave LEO with a shuttle so going traveling past LEO off the table with a shuttle. So could it be done? Absolutely! Should it be done? Not really money can be spent much more efficiently elsewhere to space travel. Will it be done? Most likely no. The closest you will get to a plane in space is maybe the dream chaser and virgin galactic. -
This is actually gonna look really good with vens stock revamp. IDK if you have seen that alexustas but it will definitely look really good.

[1.10.1+] Contract Configurator [v1.30.5] [2020-10-05]

Im sorry what do you mean by that?- 5,206 replies

I could be wrong but I wouldn't anticipate a release until 1.0. Mainly because of the new aerodynamics. Whats the point in putting in all the work and boom the new aerodynamics could mess up all that work. So be patient, from what I have seen this mod is almost ready to go, and once the 1.0 update drops, it might be one of the mods ready to go and be updated soon after the release.

[1.10.1+] Contract Configurator [v1.30.5] [2020-10-05]
sp1989 replied to nightingale's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ive noticed a small problem over the last week or two. I have been using contract configurator on and off and it seems the only glitch I have noticed is that every time I load up ksp and load my career I get the "launch a new vessel" contract. Even without CC now I get "launch a new vessel" contract whenever I load a current career. Im not sure if this has to do with CC or if anyone else seems to be having this same problem. It is a completely benign issue as it just require launching a new vessel or cheat completing the contract. It just seems like an interesting "glitch"- 5,206 replies

[1.8.x] DMagic Orbital Science: New Science Parts [v1.4.3] [11/2/2019]
sp1989 replied to DMagic's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Which part are you useing? Many of them need to be used in vee specific ways. -
no yea I know. If you finish the IVA the crosshairs would be an awesome addition.

Yes and no. He designed it when it took off there was a plumes of smoke that shot out of the exhaust slots in the launchpad and the. The smoke would disapate as it took off. Then durin ascent there was the slightest trail of smoke and it wasn't white it was orangeish exhaust. But it didn't go all the way down to the pad. Download it and launch it once with the smokescreen config he has in the download. You'll see what I mean. Also when it comes to the design of the tank, that is totally up to you. I like it the way you have it. I mean it's not a replica its stockalike.

Tantares by Beale - - - Updated - - - Totally totally worth the wait!! The engine is wonderful and it will go far. It might slightly be overpowered but we just gotta use it for heavy payloads. I mean the RD-180 is a very powerful engine. I think its balanced very well especially if its used with proper payloads. Took some pictures and the whole thing together looks really good. Well done man cant wait for the centaur. In the mean time I will just use procedural tanks and the fasa rl-10. Also I used a procedural tank in the last picture to show you what the copper tank in game can look like. If I can nit pick anything, I think there should be some smoke at least on the launch pad and small trail. I used to hate the smokescreen plugin but it has come a long way and it works really well without effecting performance. What ever you do, don't use real plume it looks really bad. I think one of the best implementations of the smokescreen plugin was by stubbles on his Zenit launcher. Its so well done, it looks beautiful, and its done very realistically.

I feel this has been said by so many before but I feel it can't be said enough......do you have RO craft files for fasa? I'm joking I'm joking. I'm actually talking about how awesome the Gemini IVA is. On of my favorite things to do is launching and agena just dock from IVA in the Gemini. So..my question is could you/are you planning on doing that type of IVA in the apollo cm? I know it's currently a wip but a docking crosshairs would be amazing even if you did nothing else with the Iva.

I did the same it all works fine
-
I can confirm that I am having the same issues too? Is it a problem with the new textures or is it the RSS 8.6? If its the textures does anyone have the old textures they could share for the time being? If its is RSS 8.6 I will just switch back to 8.5 for the time being.

Relax. That's the second time in two pages you have told someone to take there questions elsewhere. Now you might be right. But this is a community and of it is remotely related to FASA someone who follows this thread might have the answer. Even frizznak posted on the last page for someone to post the RO craft files. Yes some questions should be elsewhere, even I am guilty of asking questions in the wrong place but "take your questions elsewhere" is not the right response. It's "I don't know if this is the right place to ask that maybe check the RO thread" or any other thread that might be useful to the persons problem. Just be nice man, we are all doing the same thing, which is trying to have a good time and play ksp. If you can't answer someone's question either ignore it or direct them to a place where they might find an answer. Sorry frizznak not hijacking the thread just needed to say that, and out of respect for frizznak I won't respond to anymore to this issue.
