[WIP] Salyut Stations/Soyuz/Vostok/Voskhod/ASTP - Released!
sp1989 replied to raidernick's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Will it have defenses like the Almaz? -
ummmmm its really difficult especially since the orbiter always wants to tip forward, tip backward, and kinda spin side way. So if you you keep it at the right angle and straight the heat shield down you are good. I am not making an off color joke, I have burnt up during reentry using the Columbia textures and I felt really bad.

Its the most recent version of deadly re-entry

[1.12.*] Deadly Reentry v7.9.0 The Barbie Edition, Aug 5th, 2021
sp1989 replied to Starwaster's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Ok Im sorry if this is spam but I posted this before and it might have gotten missed. "Is it possible DRE is affecting the EVA RCS jetpack effects? My kerbals on eva their jetpacks don't have thruster effects. I started uninstalling a reinstalling mods and when I uninstalled DRE the thruster effects came back. For good measure I reinstalled DRE and they went away. I can't see why DRE would do this but it seems to be the culprit of a glitch I have been looking for, for days now. I just never thought it would be DRE but its seems to definitely be the problem. Now it doesn't bother me so I will play through it but I just wanted to know what was causing the problem."- 5,919 replies

I finally docked Mir and the real space shuttle. Why does the Buran respond better with Mechjeb than the CSS. The css is constantly "chasing the the rabbit" during rendezvous. The Buran stays on the mark pretty steady and efficiently rendezvous and docks. I mean lets face it I would say 70%-80% of the KSP community uses mechjeb. Why isn't the CSS not mech jeb friendly and can it be fixed?
-
Yes it works very well. Just make sure you download up to date dependencies.
-
This is the best exploded view I have seen for the iss. Finally I recommend using the trusses from near future construction and the Kosmos solar wings for now.
-
One request and it might just be my personal idiosyncrasy. The heatsheild really is unattractive. It works for after rentry but before it just really doesn't look good. Could you either make a clean heat shield or if you want Bobcats soyuz the thermal blanket burns off and looks really cool. I obviously I don't know how it works but it might be cool. Anyway that's really one my only complaints about the Saturn V. Edit: with the new capsule texture especially. The used and crusty heat sheild would be a shame to put on.

I know, it still doesn't seperate properly.
-
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Environmental+Visual+Enhancements+ksp# seriously its not that hard
-
I do that. When I seperate the boosters the top of the boosters turn in and strike the orbiter bounce off and then fly away. I think the seperation motors need to burn longer and stronger. Also I believe there are supposed to be some aeperatrons on the bottom. Just fyi, Google translate is easy enough to use but make sure you post in English or the moderators get mad.
-
Now thats a good update. I love the new engine sounds. I like that the VAB clutter is cleared up. I still don't like the way the SRBs separate. There has to be a way to make the bottom attachment node of the orbiter to the ET stronger. Watching the bottom slap the tank during gravity turns is horrible to watch. Even with extra struts added to the ones you already added its still doesn't stay attached. Also I think consideration for a remodel of the srbs is a must. I think everything else looks good except the SRBs and their look takes away from the whole aesthetic. In terms of flying its still difficult to fly and successfully landing on the the KSS runway are rare, when they do happen its extremely satisfying. In KSP the saying "any landing you can walk away from is a good landing" very applicable. Nit picky things would be lights on the windows and better sounds for the SRBs too. Other then that this update is leaps and bounds better then the last few. Well done. Now really push to find someone to fix the trusses of the ISS and the combination will be great.

This mod is a memory hog. I am gonna say you are hitting the memory limit. You need to run Active Texture a management and almost no other mods. However it could be something else but we can't determine that unless you tell us what's wrong/post your log.
-
I did it and its fantastic. The only shame is that the IVA is messed up.
-
no you just need to download it using unarchiver app. Its free and in the app store its all good. I should have posted an update.

[0.90.0] Fine Print vSTOCK'D - BETA RELEASE!!! (December 15)
sp1989 replied to Arsonide's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I have Karbonite installed and I never seem to get any harvesting or resource contracts to show up. Is Fine Print compatible with Karbonite or is there something wrong? -
parts [1.2] USI Survivability Pack (Formerly DERP) [v0.6.0]
sp1989 replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Could you make the landing bags a little smaller/aerodynamic/idk. I am trying to use them landing flotation bags and they just stick out too much. Maybe rounded ones so they can form to the capsules. Also can you make them DRE compatible because since they go towards the bottoms of capsules they blow up. The airbags are fine. They are a little big too but they are at least a little more manageable then the floatation devices, but they aren't DRE either they blow up too. -
[0.25] Lionhead Aerospace Inc. - Icarus v0.4 updated
sp1989 replied to Yogui87's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Oh I thought the truss he was referring to was for the iss pack. I guess that explains the mention of the cuppola I figured he was updating it too. -
Correct the newest version of RPM is incompatible with this MOD. Denny needs to update some stuff and it should work just fine with .25. So you need to do two things, give Denny rep so he updates this Saturn V and two go to the RPM github and dowload the 0.14 version of RPM if you want to get everything to work the way you want it to.

[WIP] Stand-alone (no dependencies) Alcubierre drive
sp1989 replied to RoverDude's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
He's already done that! Most people have switched to Karbonite, A select few for nostalgia reasons use HOME. KSPI is still going strong but if the plan is to create a mod similar to KSPI then I am sure this will surpass KSPI too. However I don't think thats his intention, its just seems like he wants to make a warp drive. -
So I ran into the same problems. What worked fro me is is using Aggressive ATM. Admittedly I used regular ATM and had a huge gamedata folder pushing 25 mods. Yosemite is the problem, however switching to Aggressive ATM worked beautifully. Also lowering the texture res to half. These things should help you.

I am not sure what you have planed entirely for this but I have a feeling this mod combined with this mod will be quite good. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/98913-WIP-KSS-Asimov-A-spaceship-pack-Update-0-0-2-%2811-07-2014%29 -
[1.3.0] OPT Space Plane v2.0.1 - updated 29/07/2017
sp1989 replied to K.Yeon's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I have to say this is a such a really good time to be playing KSP. There are so many good mods coming out, being released, and WIP that you don't even know what to do with your gamedata file. I find it a wonderful challenge to try and figure out what makes it into my gamedata file. Well done sir you have made my life extremely difficult to decide what to take out of my gamedata file.
