With a little bit of practice docking becomes one of the most enjoyable things in this game. Or atleast it did for me. It is just somehow thrilling to do. Today I went big and docked something with a bit more mass.
The gentlemen's club "Green Unicorn" is where Jeb and the boys hang out when they are not in space. These men work hard and they play harder. http://www.twitch.tv/othuyeg/b/518657632
Structural parts such as girders and panels have good impact resistance. If you were to build a hammer out of them you might be able to play pool with it. A rocket with plane landing gear and a nose made out of girders... Could work. You could cruise on the flat surface poking it around.
I adopted a very unefficient launch style when I used to build super wobbly rockets with dozens of boosters in different stages. The unrigid ships were not able to turn within the atmosphere so I would simply shoot them straight up and use balanced RCS to turn the ship and burn horizontal once on apoapsis. The new joints are making a huge difference.
Thank you, I shall try that immediately. Very kind of you to instruct me. I did EVA my kerbal onto it once, but I couldn't get an option for studying it. I will retry.
So... Is it possible to get science from asteroids? I thought this would be the next big thing, however after grabbing hold of an asteroid I can't think of any way to do science on/with it. Does it have to be in Kerbin orbit? I am puzzled.
You must have something wrong. Propably a mod. You said you could see the asteroids whizzing about so you must have installed ARM itself correctly. Also, you said it is a new save so it can't be that either...
Is there a way to do science on an asteroid and if so how? I have docked a manned ship with an asteroid but I can only get science readings from an orbit high above the sun.
