  1. You're not the only person to report that, I don't know what the problem is though. I honestly have no idea what solar panel you're talking about? "Wrap around folding solar arrays"..? No plan to do 2-axis arrays but there are definitely more panels getting made for the Gemini station part set.
  2. Yeah.. you don't even technically need the forks to be open? Like there's nothing that prevents a docking if the forks are down, but it makes it harder. I also think I need to reduce the force/torque on all the new ports because the crazy amount of magnetic attraction can suck you in as you're tweaking alignment on final approach. And yeah, you leave the ring's bolts retracted and once soft docking is achieved and you're aligned, then you fire the bolts to form a solid connection. CRE is still on indefinite hold with no plans to resume development, sadly. Just too much stuff to do for BDB.
  3. Oh that's awesome! Love what people are coming up with. I have moved on to the other Gemini Modular Space Station stuff, but I still have a couple finishing touches to put on the MOL parts... Speaking of which, now that my PC is working, I finally managed to get a pic of all the parts that either got in game, or had their textures finished, this past weekend: And, as a peak at the next set of parts I'm pushing through, there's been a bit of an expansion on the 1.5m parts. I was planning on just doing the lab, but realized I wanted/needed more stuff for flexibility's sake. From L to R: 1.5m end cap, 1.875m>1.5m conical adapter (for those not-DOS stations), 1.5m lab module, 0.9375m airlock, 1.25m structural node. I was struggling with the node part, I've decided I'm going to make a new lower-profile radial attachment point, so you can just configure the node however you need. Here's an example of a station core I shoved together in Maya using these parts (forgive the lack of textures on some things like the solar panels). As you can see, this part set is getting pretty versatile. The fork docking port needs some sort of reinforcement or something so the forks aren't floating in the low profile version on <1.875m parts. And, since I'm adding the 1.5m lab, I had one more thing I wanted to add... For size reference; it's the same diameter as the "hard" airlock part.
  4. Look forward to working with you!
  5. In the end it was a simple fix. RIP @PickledTripod's old GTX 780! Long live the GTX 1060 6gb that my company's IT guys just had laying around from a project PC last year that never happened.
  6. Yep, we still are trying to determine if the issue is hardware or software related. But in the meantime, I did find some screenshots I took yesterday and posted. They don't do a good job of showing everything that got uploaded this weekend (I'm really sorry about that) but hopefully this inspires something that I've been wanting to use these new parts for: Basically, expansion lab modules for orbital workshop stations. I don't really like the solar arrangement that's on here (by the way, I reverted the solar panels to the older look/style so that they aren't as jarring. I had trouble getting them to match the Skylab ones, unfortunately) but hopefully you get the idea. Real quick first, here's a list of the parts that got in game / had texture updates to finish them this weekend: One room station module Two room station module Structural endcap Cargo bay Double-width Tianja-style tracking solar panels Androgynous docking port Ring docking port Fork docking port (includes a low profile switch for radial mounting) Colinear Antenna Whip antenna Dipole antenna 1.875m flat plate adapter (Switches to 1.5m, 1.25m, 0.9375m endcaps) 1.5m flat plate adapter (Switches to 1.25m, 0.9375m, 0.625m endcaps) 0.9375m>0.625m flat plate adapter Short 0.9375m crew tube Long 0.9375m crew tube Gosh... and I feel like I'm missing something too... Anyways, here's those expanded-Skylab screenshots. Since it looks like I will be out of action for the foreseeable future, I wonder what everyone else can build with the new MOL/GMSS (Gemini Modular Space Station, the name I'm going to use for all this non-MOL station stuff moving forward) part set? Let me know if there's anything that you feel is useful that is missing on the Github issue. The best tag to search for to easily pull up all this new stuff is "MOS" btw.
  7. So uh... I'd post screenshots of the 11 parts we got in game this weekend... but near the end of my planned stream time tonight, my computer crashed. And... it wont' reboot. We've narrowed it down to something software related, the computer boots into debug mode but not normally. Don't worry, I have 3 physically separate backups of everything BDB related. Not looking for advice right now btw, but I'll keep everyone posted.
  8. Part two of the weekend stream starting in a couple minutes! Going to try and get enough stuff done so people can actually start experimenting with proper "modular" stations!
  9. Some random canoodling to share with y'all... Here's the revamped version of the existing MOL panel. As you can see, it will have options for something like the current shape, as well as normal square panels. Will be purely visual. They will attach differently than the previous version, this time I took care to do things that would be mechanically possible. I also animated that little whip antenna I showed the other day... Finally, messing around with the kind of modular station you could make with the update. Station core, the middle would be 0.9375m crew tubes and the upper section is the 1.5m lab module. And here's what it could look like with two additional modules...
  10. Yeah, exactly. I get that space is pretty empty so I understand why there wouldn't be a lot reflecting in orbit? But the fact that it straight up doesn't reflect the sun is... yeah. what. It's awful. I hate.
  11. So, ring-and-fork is a priority... but I didn't have those files on me today. Anyways, how about the advanced androgynous 1.875m docking port? Unrelated (and untextured), here are the three flavors of 1.875m plate adapter - 0.9375m, 1.25m, and 1.5m. And, I don't think people got a good look at it, so here's the mockup for the new airlock. The idea was to make it seem like a standalone version of the one embedded in the MOL.
  12. I don't know, I'm still trying to figure it out. Getting the ring-and-fork system in game is a priority but I haven't had enough time to mess with them.
  13. Guess what? I used the effing shader! Followed the Restock recipe! It doesn't effing work in game! It works in Unity editor, it woks in the VAB, not in space! So what a good use of my effing time...
  14. Whipped up (no pun intended) a couple omni antennas for the MOL parts. Can never have too many cool antennas, dishes, solar panels...
  15. Holy smokes Zorg those are incredible! Indeed, there was some new stuff uploaded last night: - New tracking solar panels. There will also be a double-width version, as well as non-tracking versions of both that unlock earlier/are cheaper. - One room station module - Two room station module - Structural endcap - MOL Cargo bay All of these parts still need some texture detailing / greebling, but I was getting burnt on texturing last night and wanted to just get something in game so people could test. A MOL testing some of the new parts: And I made some sort of... idk electronics warfare MOL? Idk it doesn't look that good. Excited to get some docking ports and stuff done so that we can make some modular stations.
  16. I am so ready to get out of this car... Laptop's battery ran out, but not before I got another set of solar panels modeled. I have my work cut out for me. I'm going to stream once I get back to my apartment, starting around 4-4:30 Eastern. Planning on texturing as long as I can, and then once I run out of steam on that I'll switch to getting the stuff from last week in game so at least theres some new stuff.
  17. Hey, I'm somewhere where I can get an internet connection on my laptop! So, enjoy a preview of... some of the parts? I'll be working on when I get back. In vaguely... left to right order? 1.5m crew module, 0.9375m crew tube, large deployable solar array, 1.875m>1.5m adapter, Ring docking port, 1.875m>1.25m adapter Fork docking port, Gemini LES, 1.875m>0.9375m adapter, airlock, androgynous docking port Cargo bay, dipole antenna, structural endcap, two-room station module, one-room station module
  18. @Pappystein I definitely will have a bunch of structural stuff mocked up. Got 3 structural adapters, the crew tube, a 1.5m lab for Vega Lab, and the big fixed solar array modeled on the second leg of the car trip.
  19. Shouldn't be an issue. That Scout stuff is deprecated and was replaced with stuff in a different folder. Dont know why or how it would be throwing that error unless I accidentally deleted more.
