  1. Only if you remember _what_ key. So you don't press F5 instead of F9 to restore ... Which has happened too many times for me ...
  2. Choosing to be voluntary moderators of a forum like this can't be considered fully healthy, or sane ...
  3. No, I wasn't aware the the keys was the same (dumped windows quite some time ago). And I don't think very many still have 32b hardware, even if they think they have.
  4. Because some people are stuck with 32bit windows and don't want to pay for a new OS.
  5. It would be easy to select in porkchops _if_ the axis had the same scaling (optimal arrival is just a straight line from origo to top left). But you're correct, the data is available but requires a bit fiddling. I'll see if I can get the time to hack one of the open solutions. KSPTOT is amazing, but a pain to setup on Linux
  6. Hijacking just a little. Is there any tool (or display version of the current ones) that makes it easier to compare dV vs arrival date? The data is available in the porkchops but it requires a lot of fiddling since the scale of the axis are different. I don't care very much on actual launch or travel time, the crucial data for me is arrival date.
  7. I fail to understand how to change the default ignoreRoll from false to true. Anyone who can help?
  8. I've got an i5-3570K 3.4GHz. Automagically OC'd to 4.1 by my Asus P8X77. Rock solid, takes torture stress test to even wind up the fans
  9. That appears to be a special case where the mb/bios is using adaptable OC. The OC range increases when you turn off cores and/or disables MT. But it's only applicable for certain CPUs and specific software. KSP does use multiple cores in general, but it can't split a vessel over several threads.
  10. After years of KSP (end EvE) I always fall for the reflex to use my mouse to pan/zoom when watching NasaTV or similar ...
  11. I'll repeat myself, check what's holding the loading back. Personally I use gkrellm to monitor what's going on on my Ubuntu 18.04. It'll tell you if it's cpu, disk or something else that's slowing you down.
  12. Note that I said check the utilization of cpu and disk _during_ the startup. As in system monitor or whatever tool applies to your OS. If the system falls into a coma without hitting either cpu nor disk then it can be that Dear Unity is trying to scan an available but unused interface, and gets stuck there until it times-out. ps. Culprits are often unused firewire interfaces or vpns ds.
  13. 10-15 mods, 181 cfgs, 30 sec to theme song. If you have very slow startup try to check cpu/disk utilization. If neither is pegged then there has been earlier issues with unused (or virtual) network interfaces.
  14. I do that all the time. Rescued Kerbals are free kerbonauts and free money.
  15. Is there any of the transfer window planners that support "Express on a budget"? As in sorting the windows dv vs arrival date, or setting a dv budget and give me the best arrival for a given dv. I know I can find that by messing around with parameters and scanning the results, but it's a bit messy. So simply, when is for instance, the nearest Duna orbit with 5k dv? PS. I'm willing to hack the code of a good solver if that's a solution. But I'm a coder, not an astrodynamisist.
  16. Having a comms network (3-4 sats) at the edge of Kerbin SOI also provides coverage on the "dark" side of Mun and Minmus. Something that ground stations can't.
  17. I've done the same between Windows and Linux without any issues, both saves and/or Gamedata.
  18. My R&D and "simulation" save is called RPL. Rocket Propulsion Lab, since I rarely do jets
