[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Nope, no dependencies between the LZ-1, ASDS and the main SpaceX parts folder. -
[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I am working on it. Originally, I planned to use the Dragon I am currently working on in the CRS-8 video, but the time wasn't enough unfortunately. But yes, I am working on a Dragon 1 right now, and will eventually make a V2. Remove the folders you don't need? -
[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Very nice work! Yep, exactly. That's what I have done for example in this video: Based on my output data which was logged during the landing, the minimum throttle during the landing was 0.76, so pretty good and still within the real Merlin 1d's throttling range. -

You are talking about the SpaceX pack? You are using KSP 1.0.5? Maybe try a reinstall? The parts should load just fine.. -
Well, that's how it's done. Incredible. Amazing. Awesome. Don't find the words. Launched at the first try. Perfect launch. Perfect weather. Healthy Dragon in Orbit. Healthy S1 on OCISLY. What do you want more???

You might also be interested in my Launchers Pack mod. I have got multiple engines in that pack, containing RS-27(A), AJ-10-118K, Merlin 1C, Merlin 1Ci, Merlin 1CV, Merlin 1D, Merlin 1DV, Merlin 1D+, Merlin 1DV+, Kestrel, and the RL-10 used on Atlas V. Not all engines are RO supported, but it's not really hard to make the configs for those engines I think. Also, you may be interested in my ATK Propulsion Pack, which actually is RO supported, if you want some SRB's and kick stages.

[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I will upload Atlas V once I fixed its gimbal issue, apart from that Atlas V works fine. I will reupload Minotaur soon, and Delta II and III maybe, based on how soon the ULA pack will be ready. I don't see the point in fixing these rockets now if I release completely new ones a couple weeks later. -
[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Just download the latest version from Spacedock. I didn't upload a new version for KSP 1.1 yet, but the latest version works fine in both 1.0.5 and 1.1. Make sure to install the dependencies I listed in the OP though. @tees That's strange, I'll test it. -
@Nookos That is great, for you and me! i'll have to check out that performance issue, but I thought that would only be if you sit the kerbals in seats.. i don't remember to have any issues with big plane cabins wit many kerbals

Yes, I am planning to do an IVA, for the cockpit and for the fuselage of course. How many kerbals it will hold? Hard to say. The whole body is 3.75m in diameter (so you can stick the passenger section onto a SLS or something heh ), so there are gonna be a lot places. Probably 4 kerbals in a row, so each kerbal has enough space (I have to see what looks better, so maybe also 5 or 6 kerbals in a row), at a total passenger cabin length of ~22.5m, with let's say 0.8m space between the rows, that would make up to about 110 to 170 seats in total (4 seats per row, six seats per row). Though regarding the space between the seats, 170 is more realistic. Probably totally overdone for KSP, but hey! KIS container? Maybe. I will do the space for the cargo anyway with the cargo doors, so I could maybe do something cool with that. Like, making a custom container, and make that be a KIS container. Will have to see.

OK, just gave it a quick test in KSP. Nothing is working, because I've not done any configuration yet, I just wanted to check if there are any big differences in unity 5 compared to unity 4 I would need to get used to, but actually all seems to have stayed the same mostly, which is great. I also wanted to give it a quick test in KSP to check that the gear I want to use for it is actually big enough. Turns out, it fits perfectly! I will do all the texturing stuff now first, and then start working on the real configs, but it's good to know that it's pretty much like before.

Spacex unveils mct plans(rick roll)
Kartoffelkuchen replied to insert_name's topic in Science & Spaceflight
nope, link is broken in germany. can't access the video. Though i'd love to see the their MCT plans! -
An adapter? Why? You can just surfaceattach and build your rocket with a radial decoupler under it... @Nookos Well, you can make the stock parts deploy and retract, so I think it's definitely possible, though I've never made a wing before. I simply have to see! ^-^ Thanks for your interest in this guys! I'll have to see how I UV unwrap this now...it's a little harder than unwrapping a cylinder heh

[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
@DarthVader I tested, and OSF actually worked fine. @tees Make sure to install Old School Fairings and try again! -
I've been working a little on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, it was not really supposed to be a KSP mod, more like some personal modelling and texturing training, but I thought about it, and I came to the result that it might not be a bad idea to also make it a KSP mod, so here we go! I will make some simplifications here and there (flaps for example), but will try to make it overall close to the real thing. I will probably use the stock gear though. I will also try to do an IVA (never did that before), but I will first need to set up everything else, which could be a bit harder because I've never made plane parts for KSP before. I'll keep you informed about my progress here! So, I finished the models I think (note that the engine fan is still missing, I will texture that): Hope you'll like my little project!

[1.7.2] KK Launchers - Delta, Atlas Pack
Kartoffelkuchen replied to Kartoffelkuchen's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
We're go for launch! Just a small note, the SpaceX LVs seem to work pretty much fine in KSP 1.1, based on my testing. Even the landing legs work. Only texture switching does not work, because Firespitter is not yet updated for KSP 1.1, and the Falcon Heavy decoupler is grey instead of white, which I have to investigate later. I'll work on a "real" 1.1 version though, with updated materials and such. Regarding Atlas V, it also seemed to work, but I had some strange issues with the RD-180 not gimballing, therefore loosing control over the vehicle. You have to see if it works on your install. -
Landing legs in 1.1

Yes, all .mu files. -
Wasn't there a button to report posts? OK, seriously, but this is all...wrong, it's just wrong. Seriously, who would like to upload his work to a hosting site like you present here, after reading this thread? Please, please please please learn the basics first, then analyze what other mod hosting sites made well and which things could be improved, then see how you can make things better, work out a plan maybe, and then maybe tell the us what you are wanting to do, and that you want support or something.. But don't start with saying "Hey, I am awesome and I will make the greatest modding website ever, spacedock and all the other websites are rubbish", when you have a design like in 90's or something. At last it seems old (yes you said you have a new design but still...)

OSIRIS-REx Asteroid Sample Return
Kartoffelkuchen replied to IonStorm's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@IonStorm WOW, cool! A real NASA guy hehe! This is really cool. I could see if I can create a slightly stockalized version (Not that I couldn't also create a realistic OSIRIS-REx mod, but stockalike is probably gonna make this all more popular).. Guess we need my Atlas V again then.
