Sudden and extreme negative review spike?
Reactordrone replied to Clockwork13's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Possibly the 1.4.3 patch delay. -
As long as you land gently you can land on your engine bell without breaking it. The lander will sit a little wobbly but it should be usable.

Stuck in 300km orbit with no fuel. Help!
Reactordrone replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Yep, the Kerbal stays in the same orbit, the ship suddenly departs. Doesn't always do it and it's a pretty edge case but it was a little odd to encounter. ETA- I also just tried it in an old 1.0.5 game with the same result so it's not a new problem. -

Stuck in 300km orbit with no fuel. Help!
Reactordrone replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just a word of caution if you have to get out and push. Make sure you're not outside pushing when the ship changes spheres of influence. I did that yesterday and the ship ended up in a retrograde orbit and I had to send another ship to go and grab the ship and the Kerbal who were now orbiting in totally different directions. -
Anyone know the colouring of Voskhod II?
Reactordrone replied to zpox357's topic in Science & Spaceflight
And another. Other than the white and grey display Vostoks they all seem to be this greenish grey colour. I wonder if the manufacturer has ever changed their paint codes?- 8 replies

Anyone know the colouring of Voskhod II?
Reactordrone replied to zpox357's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I'd go with a mostly green scheme (unless you're doing it full of LOx, then add the white frosting). Most photos I've seen seem to indicate that the payload shroud is the same colour as the rocket and there are no orange bands. The green colour should be pretty close to a current soyuz booster colour. The black and white second stage was for Voskhod 1. http://www.spacefacts.de/graph/photo/large/english/voskhod-2_pad_2.htm- 8 replies

"Humanity Star" or "Space Disco Ball"?
Reactordrone replied to p1t1o's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Having found out that the tracking on the humanity star website was out by about 15 mins I looked it up on Heavens above the other day (the morning of the 22nd) and caught the humanity star in the early morning. It was mostly very faint with a brief flare for a second or two. It still seems to be tracking on the humanity star website but isn't listed on heavens above any more. -

Open the game you want, hit Esc to bring up the menu, click settings, click on difficulty options at the top and it's under general options, right at the bottom. -

You have to enable other launch sites in settings. The other launch sites will then be available in old saves. -
Did the Mun via Minmus mission and got a Kraken attack. Completed the crash probe in Mun part and got no completion screen so I exited and when I went back I saw this, I like the two Kerbins in the comms panel

Ore Station Question.
Reactordrone replied to Rocket In My Pocket's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If you don't have the miner there yet the easiest way to complete would be to have 5000 units of ore on the mine vessel. bring it up after it's full and you'll complete when you dock. -
Russia announces a plan for Mars and Moon missions
Reactordrone replied to michal.don's topic in Science & Spaceflight
If you want an off the shelf solution the engine used on the Briz upper stage will do it for you. Similar thrust, propellants and Isp as the Apollo Ascent propulsion system. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S5.98M -
Problems with control of vessel
Reactordrone replied to LucasCB's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If you've docked with another craft your control point may have changed from your main ship's capsule (to another capsule, probe core or docking port) so I'd try clicking on your main capsule that's in line with the engine that you're using and select "control from here".- 2 replies
